I drove 15 minutes to try this place. I’ve eaten authentic Chinese food in San Francisco, New York City, Asia, etc. Look at the photos. The dumpling dough. It’s WAAAAY too thick. The pork filling is from a cheap cut, and a ton of it is chewy fat. I had to spit it out on the plate. Mostly inedible. It’s obvious because of the grease in the picture. The curry chicken was excellent. But look at the amount of onions. I’ve never seen this before. Lol 😂. Maybe there’s an inexperienced new chef. If, I am in the area in the future, I might consider stopping by but certainly won’t drive from home there again.

We get food from here at least once every couple weeks and it's always good. I always get the same thing: sweet & sour chicken meal comes with rice, egg roll, and soup. Yum! Good portions and fortunes! And very nice family running the business. I'm never disappointed when I go to eat from this restaurant. Edit: Check out my fortune! they gave me a cookie with my meal and I have to say this is one of the better fortunes I've ever gotten before from a fortune cookie. So fitting! I'm using the numbers on the lotto and I will get back to y'all if they were good for that too!

Order pork chop suey and it came out with only peas in the pod, onions, minimal mushrooms and tons of bamboo shoots absolutely swimming in sauce. Partner got some general tsao and it was incredibly soggy and also swimming in sauce. The rice was good, but the egg rolls were extremely burned. I know it's Christmas, but this isn't our first experience here with the same lacking food and service. Just kinda sucks that our Christmas american-chinese food lunch tradition was sub par. The wonton soup was also basically water with some wontons in it.

EditI've decided the one-star reviewers must be competitors, or they just don't know good Chinese food. Seriously, I don't review restaurants, but I love this place so much, I just had to. Edit2I've never gotten free appetizers, but if you're looking for a good appetizer that costs money, the fried sugar-coated donut puff balls things are great, but they're definitely not healthy (I get them for a friend so I'm not tempted to have more than one) I've been going for years, it's always the best local Chinese restaurant. Really, it's just the plain best local restaurant (I guess I like Chinese). I usually get bourbon chicken, but when I want something healthier, I get chicken and broccoli with sauce on the side. My friend gets cashew chicken, and he recommends it. Btw, general tso's chicken isn't healthy anywhere you go, even here (so if you're looking for something healthy, and you're hoping general tso's will meet your requirements, it won't). I will, however, say that their chicken chow mein is nothing like the stuff in google images. It's like a cabbage and boiled chicken stew with fried noodles on the side. Would not recommend unless...

For those of you that with begin their review with " I have been to San Francisco China town and New York China town and blah blah blah and begin overcriticizing a place especially when your a transplant from another state! Seriously! We get it, the foods really authentic in those big city's and its is to be expected. This is Lutz, Florida my people and not New York nor Frisco! You have to work with what you have! I love this little gem in Lutz! The restaurant is super clean, the staff is so very humble and so polite! The food is very consistent in quality and taste and very well portioned. Its my go to place during my work week! House of China you guys...

If you're originally from New York, then you are highly familiar with how it feels to break up with your hometown Chinese food takeout place. You start to think you'll never find a good Chinese food place around here, maybe Florida simply just cannot compare.

Until you give House of China a try.

First time trying this place, and can finally say I found a good spot after living here for almost three years now. Food is amazing, presentable, and flavorful. Variety of menu options, but limited enough to understand the restaurant's specializations. Bonus points for the woman who works the front desk. Incredibly friendly and pleasant within customer...
