Bee Bee's Spot.....where do I start? I went here with my Mom, sister and nephews. It is a newer food place in Lynchburg that we have been wanting to try out. Walking in the vibe was different and not what I was totally expecting. There was some good music playing but I did notice that it was loud. Usually restaurants that have loud music are going to be loud in general. Sure enough we were seated and we had to speak loud to talk. I felt like everyone in there had to yell to be heard. There were a couple of birthday parties going on so it was busy. We arrived around 7PM and they close at 8PM. Cutting it close but we went.
Once seated, it took a while for our server to take our drink order. This was a red flag. She did stop by the table a couple of times to let us know she would be there shortly. They were clearly short staffed. Once we got the drink order put in we were able to put in our food order. It took a long time to get the food. Our server gave updates but that didn't shorten the time. It was an 1 hour and 15 mins to get our food. I was enjoying my family and people watching (side note...it was a lot to see....I won't go into the details but I want to go back just to see if it is like that all of the time. Definitely entertaining but concerning for the longevity of the restaurant.)
I ordered lamb chops with Mac and cheese and collard greens. Mom ordered fish (whiting) and chips. My sister ordered meat loaf with Mac and cheese and collard greens. Nephews ordered a burger with fries and Salmon with Mac and cheese.
My lamb chops were really good and seasoned well. The Mac and cheese was reported to be "to die for" but I don't see that. It is decent restaurant level Mac and cheese but I grew up on homemade Mac and cheese. Collards were well seasoned. My Mom's fish and chips were really good. The fish was fresh out of the fryer. Good flavor. My sister said her meatloaf was good as well. She agreed on the Mac.....not to die for but decent for a southern restaurant.
They turned down the music a little eventually. Overall an ok experience. The food was good but it took a long time to get it. The server gave us cake (lemon pound cake) and didn't charge us for the drinks (non-alcoholic) to try to make up for the long wait. She tried and we...
Read moreCame in on a Sunday - to my surprise we were the only customers. As delicious as this food was- this place deserved to be packed with Sunday dinner guest. My husband and I stopped in - kinda skeptical when we saw it empty- but, we soon realized we were definitely in the right place. The music was great (suggest maybe a streaming service as not to compete with incoming text msg) - the food was delicious- we had whiting filets (I had the sandwich and husband had the fish and chips). This particular day they were out of a few items (no yams, tea, ginger ale) but we understand and made alternate choices. My only regret - not taking a pic of my food - it was nicely plated. As we looked around the outside on the way out - we noticed if you were not intentionally looking for this place -it would be hard to find. It would been great to see more advertisement to get people into this venue because it was definitely deserving!! Every single person there was personable and welcoming! I can’t wait to recommend it to our family...
Read moreWinner Winner Chicken Dinner 🙌 Lynchburg officially has an Amazing and Vibrant place to get your Southern Food needs Satisfied. I was warmly greeted and seated by Khy, she’s confident and helpful when it came to making choices. I chose the Lamb Chops dinner w Fries and Collard Greens. The Fries were served HOT with a nice texture and light seasoning, perfect without ketchup. The Collard Greens were a pleasant surprise, a complex flavor of pork and seasoning made them a pleasure to eat. I haven’t had Lamb Chops in 8 years. These were worth the wait. Flavorful meat and fat that provided a Savory experience. I put down the knife and fork and enjoyed them straight off the bone. You’re seriously still standing there? Get your butt in the car and find out for yourself! Props to Brandon, Destiny and Megan for their warmth and friendliness. I look forward to my next meal at Bee...
