La Cocina — Restaurant in Lynchburg

Mi Cocina is an absolute GEM. This quaint mobile restaurant crafts authentic Mexican food, not the Americanized style of the more common "Mexican" restaurants in the area. I took my girlfriend on a date here after a long hike, and we ordered the chipotle chicken tacos and chicken quesadilla. My mouth was watering before I even tasted the food because the aroma was so intoxicating. Fresh cilantro, meats cooked to perfection, delicious salsa (green and red), and a unique use of cheeses will leave you more than satisfied no matter what you order. We also tried their Mexican hot cocoa, which was the cherry on top of the whole experience. It should be noted that the prices are a little higher than what you would expect to pay at a food truck, but that's because (and this is crucial) THIS IS NO FOOD TRUCK. For starters - bring your appetite. The servings are stacked, leaving plenty of leftovers. We had two tortas (asada & chorizo huevo) and a pollo quesadilla. The tortas are absolute units. I love Mi Cocina!! Their service is so quick and the staff is always friendly. Appreciate the seating area and that they give you chips and salsa while you wait. Some of the best tacos around!!
