Sweet Indulgence Bakery — Restaurant in Lynchburg

This year my wife's birthday was saved by many people coming together and bringing as much joy and happiness as they could. After a disastrous first attempt I strived to make a new birthday for my wife. A zoo trip was booked, dinner planned, and all we needed was a cake. I wanted to get her a birthday cake that would help her to forget the first attempt. One that would last in her memory and be the one she thinks of when she thinks of turning 38. In comes Sweet Indulgence Bakery. This had to be a beautiful masterpiece and Ashley was more than ready for the task. The cake she created based on my simple idea was beyond what I could have hoped for.

The day came and the zoo was enjoyed. Dinner was eaten. Then came the moment we all waited for. The beautiful teddy bear with a purple bow tie came around the corner greeting my wife with two small candles on top indicating her age. The face of child like joy that she expressed was beyond priceless. Tears of happiness and love filled her eyes and she began to laugh at the little brown bear as it came to her as we sang the timeless song of Happy Birthday. After the ceremony ended and wishes were made we gave her the requested piece she hoped for. The smile as she made her first bite let all of us know that this cake was as decadent as it was beautiful. We all dug in!

Ashley is one of the kindest, funniest, and down-to-earth people you will ever meet. She's here for her customer: she makes you feel like family, and is happy to serve you. It was my birthday at the lake, and I needed a cake, so I called. "Hi!" She, from the start, treated me as if she'd known me all her life. And when I ordered the cake, she gave me options ("What do you like?!") and was honest about pricing. No tricks, no sales gimmicks. Just an honest person who made one of the best desserts I've ever had. At any restaurant ever. For all time. Forever and amen. Vanilla sponge with raspberry filling, and a white buttercream frosting. Oh yes! If you want to know how the cake looked, the only thing I can say is that it looked like a piece of art -- clean lines, even edges, a perfectly "embroidered" edge/corner (I don't know how to phrase it). As far as taste goes, OH MY GOODNESS. The vanilla sponge was not too sweet, and the frosting was soft and dee-lish. In three days, the cake was gone. This was my first order and definitely will not be my last. We ordered walnut and pistachio Baklava. It was a surprise for my husband. For 20 years we've searched this area for true Greek Bakalava. She absolutely nailed it per my husband, the expert. It is so moist the layers are so light. All handmade. Next we ordered my favorite, Tiramisu. She makes the lady fingers from scratch. It is an absolute dream....love love love it. The next item was a beautiful key lime pie. That was delivered to my sister for her early birthday present. She only uses key limes. The report from the birthday girl is it is an absolutely perfect true key lime pie and delicious. Thank you so very much, and this was worked into a busy holiday schedule with a very humble thank you and I picked it up a day early.
