Liberty is an exceptional school. After much research I ultimately decided to come back for my masters because I just don't see any other schools offering the same caliber of classes and programs; nor do I see other schools as organized or intuitively laid out. The professors I studied under for my bachelors were wonderful, knowledgeable, and the majority were former professionals in the fields they taught (which definitely enriched the instruction I received.)
Administratively speaking, the way they have advising setup is pretty genius. I greatly appreciate the near-instant access to academic help via chat, phone, or in person.
Considering the curriculum, I find myself using the skills I gained during my time there in many contexts daily and not just professionally. I truly learned more through Liberty's program than I did as a residential student at UNC prior. There was very little "fluff" in class at Liberty so I never felt my time or resources were being wasted on busy work.
The fact that disgruntled reviewers above say that Liberty is a joke school was not my experience. As a graduate I find it curious that so many low reviews are written by people who admittingly haven't even started yet.
If you are a non-believer this may not be a school you'll fully appreciate... but that doesn't mean it is a low caliber school lacking in rigor, prestige, network, or highly successful alumni. Slandering something because you dislike the culture and values is exceptionally unintegral, close-minded, and intolerant. Frankly, I'm not sure why non-believing students feel they have a duty or right to complain about it being a private Christian school. You didn't have to apply to come here, you know? Liberty is not coy about the faith aspect of their school culture. So to put it simply: if you don't want a Biblically infused education and you are deeply perturbed by Christians and Christian culture then don't apply to a private Christian school.
From my personal experience (even working in non-Christian field) when people see or hear I graduated from Liberty they perk up. Liberty grads have a reputation for hard work ethic, flexibility, resourcefulness, humility, and strong leadership ability. As a result I have seen Liberty grads scattered all the way up to the top echelons of society to the most humble of services abroad. Personally, I have no issues in interviews nor have I ever had a hard time getting offers; the only difficulty has been knowing which...
Read moreThis school is the worst. I attend online and there is no teacher communication that was promised, instead there are multiple different people that are supposed to answer you emails and calls for help but these people have no idea what they are doing. The science class contradicts itself saying that evolution is fake and forcing the christian beliefs on people. If an assignment is turned in without a paragraph on god you get points off. Liberty has taught me one thing and it is that I should never ever come back. The assignments are graded by AI and the emails are impersonal and in every video made by the actual teacher they say "student" instead of a students name. After contacting on of my teachers about a video she confirmed that the video was made 2 years earlier. There is little to no holiday breaks which is a surprise for a christian school. Although there are no breaks for students, throughout the year the students get pictures and updates on trips the teacher is taking to the Bahamas which is extremely inappropriate. I had an experience where I wrote something in preparation for my essay and after submitting it, I had to do a short quiz on my instructor feedback. I wrote to my teacher with a very nice email and asked her to grade my assignment so I could move forward in the class. The teacher did not respond even after getting multiple emails from me. I had taken a spring break so I was a little behind and needed to catch up but I was not able to move on. I went to the live teacher chat and waited for 45 minutes on the ai bot page before leaving the chat altogether. Finally a week later, my teacher responded with 1 sentence of feedback. I was upset but took the quiz anyway. The only problem was that the teacher had given me 1 sentence and the quiz asked for a 2-3 sentence summary of what my teacher had said. I typed out the single sentence and moved on but it is unbelievable to me that a school could no set...
Read moreThey need to step up their homeschooling program. Its hard to see if your to kid actually gets what they are leaning. It’s mostly graded by AI so even if your kid gets the answer wrong it might be right so then you have to get a hold of the teacher, so that’s super weird, you pretty much have to check everything that the your kid does to make sure that they get their credit if AI grades it wrong. School is also supposed to be a tad bit fun, (little activity or fun worksheets) but they have no fun. It’s sad for elementary kids. Some teachers are pretty good but then most teachers are homeschooling their own kids too and they have multiple kids so they honestly could care less and then some teachers have their own schedules and don’t grade things til 2 o’clock in the morning so if you have notifications sit on, you’ll be woken up and then some teachers just like answering questions when they want (That’s the kind of teacher we have right now )and if you have any issue and sometimes you call from Liberty University and they’re wondering if everything‘s OK you tell them there’s an issue they’re basically like huh too bad. our first year homeschooling was tough, but the teacher ended up expecting a baby and so they got a permit sub for her and that teacher was amazing. The permit sub was way better than all of the other teachers that we’ve had she actually did the work and showed examples and made her own videos then just getting whatever video that they can find on YouTube, and she called my kid by name in the video and was great. Last couple years, not so great teachers. I feel like if you’re getting paid to do a job as a teacher and most teachers school do show examples ( putting in time and effort like what they expect from the kid)and use their own videos instead of some random person online That makes it better...
