Waffle House — Restaurant in Lynchburg

I hate to do this, but I must be honest with the review. I had breakfast at this restaurant on 10/21/2024, around 6 am. I was a few folks in there, primarily a table of 4-6 older gentlemen who probably come there regularly. I came in and saw them and noticed a homeless person, all bundled up, sleeping in one of the rear tables. I sat down, and shortly thereafter, Chris, the waiter, came over and asked for my drink order. I requested coffee and water. He made a fresh pot of coffee and brought me back my water. I offered to give him my order, but he did not ask for it and took it. I noticed after he took my order he went to tend to the table of the older gentleman. He never communicated my order to the cook, who stood idly for about 10 minutes. After waiting, I noticed two other customers come in well after me, and their order was taken and food delivered. I am still waiting for coffee. Finally, I got up, walked over to the counter, and asked Chris if I could have some coffee and if he would be kind enough to put my order in. He seemed a bit irritated that I asked and walked off fast to the back, mumbling I can not take this, and I am trying to be nice. I am still unsure if my order was placed after new customers came in, and I had been in the restaurant for 20 minutes. Finally, Chris brought me coffee and cream. A few minutes later, the cook brought me my food, which I might add was perfectly cooked. While eating, another homeless man came asking diners for money. Someone buys him a cup of coffee, and then he goes and stands outside the glass window overlooking the tables sitting along that side of the restaurant; it is kind of creepy and weird. On my way out, Chris apologized and said he had been short-handed since 2 am, and it was a little crazy. I gave him a small tip and departed the restaurant. The homeless man outside asks me for money again and follows me to the parking lot. It was not a good dining experience, except the cook nailed my well-done hash browns and other food. ...

The waffle house on wards road... This was a semi delightful experience... I try to make it a habit in going here once a month atleast just for selfcare days and treat myself to a good meal!!!! This was the 1zt encounter with this particular team of 2 employees... It was a okay experience... They are very much by the book... Now I was asking the lady about the prices and deals and meal options.... Trying tk explain to her the cheaper she can make the food cost is the more of a tip I will be able to provide!!!!! NOW YOU WOULD THINK THAT SHE WOULD UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS SAYING ESPECIALLY WHEN I KNOW SHE GETS TIRED OF NOT MAKING A DECENT AMOUNT ON TIPS A DAY AND REGULAR BASIS.... So I'm trying to help that situation... I guess she didn't and or was scared to work her magic on the prices because she rang me up on everything full price minus 1 waffle she managed to take $2 off on... Other than that everything else was full price no deals and no breaks.... So I simply agreed to disagree and I think she got a little bit upset as I was walking out because I tipped the cook like $10 dollars and walked out without tipping her anything due to her lack of effort and not to mention she disengaged from me and started to go help another person who seemingly was a regular daily customer and completely disregarded my service... I wasn't mad at her... The line Cook did a hell of a job with picking up the service and not making me feel...

I have never had a bad thing to say about the waffle House but this was the worst experience I've ever had. The girl who took our order seem confused and was later arguing with the cook who was the only other person there. The food took over 30 minutes and then my scrambled eggs were not done I did not ask for cheese on them I asked for cheese on my steak and there was none they left his toast out and had to cook it at the end which let the rest of the food get cold. The cook and the cashier I was told after I went out decided to argue again about her being sent home it was because she wasn't doing her job and she was saying that he made more money than her. She was very unprofessional it was distracting the cook and there weren't many people there when we first got there but it quickly piled up because things were moving so slow Didn't bother going back to get the food right I just end up throwing most of it away I don't think I'll ever go to the one at Ward's road again it really made my night go downhill because I have been feeling bad and hadn't eaten any real food for a few days and then the food I got was barely edible so I suggest that this waffle House gets a better help late at night I know they can do better because they have...
