I specifically stopped here for the responsibly sourced food, so I don't mind paying a little more for quality, but their staff, preparation and final products were quite frankly just terrible.
We arrived at 2:45 and the kitchen was closed. The only hot food they were serving was soup, seafood or veggie. No problem, I ordered the seafood soup. The waitress made a point to mention that it was $10 because it contained "a lot of seafood" and "seafood was expensive". I didn't complain, or even ask about it, she made a point of it and even opened up and pointed to it on the menu. When it arrived 10 min later, all I could see was cut up pieces of a baked potato. There were literally 4 pieces of seafood and what looked like an entire baked potato in my soup. The seafood consisted of two small pieces of lobster, one scallop and one small piece of fish. When I say small, I mean smaller than a teaspoon in size. In addition, it wasn't even warm.
I didn't even know what to say at that point. I was hungry, so I ate it, it didn't fill me up, but I wasn't about to order anything else. The waitress flat out lied and there was no point in starting an argument with her. My friend ordered the veggie soup and also felt ripped off. The waitress never came back, we prepaid so we just left.
An utter disappointment all around. There is no excuse for such terrible service and overpriced food. I would like to have given it a great review, but unlike their staff I can't lie. This place is a disgrace to responsible food producers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here with the husband to enjoy a steak tip dinner. It was our first time there. We were one of just a couple of people there. It was early on a Friday and not at all busy. We both asked for medium rare, but instead got well-done to the point of charred. Complained numerous times about the food, expecting some helpful response to re-cook the food or replace an item. All we got were, "oh that's too bad" as a response with no follow-up offer to fix it. It was the oddest thing ever. I ate maybe 3 bites of my food before I couldn't manage anymore. The hubby ate maybe a few more bites than that, but we neither ate the majority of or meal nor took the rest with us. We asked to speak to the manager, and we got the same response when we explained the problems with the meal. Oh that's too bad. We paid and left. The service was weird and offensive. The food was inedible. They took as much of our money as they'll ever get. I was just floored. Haven't missed a chance to tell anyone and everyone how bad our experience was. We don't generally have any issues with eateries, have rarely ever needed to be comp'd or offered alternatives, and are more than happy to praise an establishment for a job decently to well done. Always wondered what the deal was here, but am not willing to pay...
Ā Ā Ā Read morefirst off let me say that as a college student living in this town.. My first experience with this place was a bit skeptical. I thought it was just going to be one of those tourist attractions... Which essentially it kind of was with a majority of the merchandise on the inside.. I remember my mother took the longest time looking through their merch when I'd already made up my mind. but, when my mother is not visiting I visit once in a while and, I always seem to enjoy myself when I look through for any new items that I may or may not wish to buy. Unfortunately I'm a poor college student though so it kinda sucks but, If I were to say anything else, their Ice Cream is the best in Lyndonville! they give you more than you'd want for that size cone... I always go with a small because that seems like a large to me x3
And their people are soo nice xD I give it a 4 out of 5 :3
Food- Good Decor- Old Fashioned (I love it!) Trains? YES Ice cream- More than you can handle...
