Nestled in the heart of East Lynn, Monte's restaurant stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, drawing in patrons from far and wide with its tantalizing array of delicacies. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their famed cult classic: the thin-crusted single-serving pizza pie. What ensued was a culinary journey that left an indelible mark on my taste buds and memories.
Upon stepping into Monte's, I was immediately struck by its cozy ambiance and inviting decor. The warm hues and soft lighting created an atmosphere that was both intimate and sophisticated, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism, adding to the overall welcoming vibe of the restaurant.
After perusing the menu, my eyes were immediately drawn to the cult classic thin-crusted single-serving pizza pie—an item that had garnered rave reviews from friends and food critics alike. Intrigued by its reputation, I decided to embark on this culinary adventure without hesitation.
As I awaited the arrival of my pizza, I couldn't help but admire the attention to detail evident in every aspect of Monte's operation. From the meticulously curated wine selection to the impeccably plated dishes emerging from the kitchen, it was evident that this was a restaurant that took pride in its craft.
Finally, the moment of truth arrived as the server placed the pizza before me. At first glance, I was struck by the pizza's simplicity— a thin, golden crust adorned with a sparing yet artful arrangement of toppings. However, as I took my first bite, I was transported to culinary nirvana.
The crust was a revelation—thin yet sturdy, with just the right amount of crispness to provide a satisfying crunch with each bite. It served as the perfect canvas for the toppings, allowing their flavors to shine without overwhelming the palate. The sauce was rich and tangy, complemented by the freshness of the tomatoes and the subtle sweetness of the basil.
But it was the toppings themselves that truly stole the show. Each ingredient was of the highest quality, sourced with care and attention to detail. The cheese was creamy and decadent, while the meats were savory and succulent. Every bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, leaving me craving more with each mouthful.
As I savored the last crumbs of my pizza, I couldn't help but reflect on the sheer artistry that had gone into its creation. It was evident that Monte's chefs were masters of their craft, possessing a deep understanding of flavor profiles and culinary techniques. Each component had been thoughtfully chosen and expertly executed, resulting in a dish that was nothing short of perfection.
In addition to the culinary delights, Monte's also excelled in its service and hospitality. Throughout the meal, the staff remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From offering recommendations to promptly refilling my water glass, they went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and valued as a guest.
As I bid farewell to Monte's, I did so with a sense of profound satisfaction and contentment. The cult classic thin-crusted single-serving pizza pie had exceeded my wildest expectations, leaving an indelible impression on my taste buds and memories. Without a doubt, Monte's restaurant stands as a shining example of culinary excellence, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to indulge in its gastronomic...
Read moreService: Immediately upon showing up the waitress was not very happy but no biggie. We had a party of 8 and said we could do two tables of 4 and 4 if necessary. (Trying to make it easy on them as we were visiting family from this area). She sits us at the TWO tables and says she assumes it will all be one check. We say "no it will be multiple" (as there are multiple different family groups. She snarks and says "what do you mean multiple". I don't know how hard that is to comprehend but multiple means more than one check where I come from. And also where I come from, you don't ask about how to divide checks until near the end, just common decency. She didn't seem to love her job but... not my deal.
Pizza: I know this is supposed to be "bar style pizza" but for it getting a 10/10 from barstool, IM SHOCKED. This pizza was edible, but nothing to ride home about, and I've definitely had better bar pizza elsewhere. Tasted like a Toni's pizza I could make at home if I added some extra cheese onto it. Not impressed, 6/10.
Atmosphere: Old school, cash only. I like old school but there was nothing crazy old school or any design style choices that made this place worth coming to see. And cash only in 2024? Get with the times,...
Read moreMuch like other Barstool pizza review victim's I can attest to the average, at best, taste of the cheese pie from this place! Sure it's crisp, light and no flop with great undercarriage. But, where is the taste? To be fair I must include Phantom Gourmet to the list of sources that compelled me to try this pie out. Maybe, just maybe, it's worth looking at the way Doug DeMuro does his car rating system on YouTube. Yes, they are much longer and contain a lot more information and detail. However, they follow a system of universal attributes for every single rating. I'm sure as subjective as human taste buds are there is way to put together three to five easy to follow matrix and give them each a rating and combine the total for the final score. I'm also pretty sure that it could be done from a Barstool, take that Dave! Now, to be fair to Monte's... I'm more than confident that they make great meals that tourists and locals alike enjoy! The staff is friendly and easy-going, the area is outstanding! Even if the pie may be a bust, the trip won't be. The beach, waterfront and Red Rock park are well worth a visit! Not to mention plenty of other pizza...
