Old Tyme Italian Cuisine — Restaurant in Lynn

We've been going to old tyme for years. A favorite in our eating out rotation. Something has certainly changed. Its hard to understand how someone could take an apparently successful business and handle it so badly. The time before our last visit they are in the middle of a construction project, big time. Here's you meal.. and your plastic cutlery and ya.. that is a plastic plate we served it on. Ok.. disappointment but, we get change and a month later we are back. The plastics are gone but, the atmosphere I'm after is not dining in somebody's do it yourself renovation. Half finished and totally strange. The reason we won't be back is they seem settled in. They don't even seem to think it's a problem. Wife liked her food, mine was ok ish. Server seemed totally green. Don't expect much variety from the bar. Their take business seems to be doing well. ...

Old tyme has been my favorite Italian restaurant for many years my husband and I enjoy trying different Italian restaurants usually in the salem to east boston areas. On Easter we went to old tyme along with 9 family members (it's the one restaurant every can agree on) The atmosphere has a casual family feel to it I ordered chicken picita over linguini chicken is plentiful and and very tender the rest of the family had a variety of different entrees everyone enjoyed, most had extra to take home. I hosted a Birthday party of approximately 25ppl. I was in search of catered/trays of Italian food and everyone kept recommending Old Tyme. I had to give it a try. The recommendations were spot on and did not disappoint. I ordered trays of; Shrimp Scampi, Meatballs, Chicken Parm, Sausage Peppers & Potates, Baked Ziti and a salad. All were a hit. The Chicken Parm and Sausage Peppers and Potatoes were the first to go and fan favorites. I would definitely recommend this place and use them for another party. I am ashamed that being a life-long Lynner this is my first time trying Old Tyme BUT it won’t be my last time!!!
