11/3/24-We stopped into Roca bakehouse for lunch and had a fantastic experience once again. I had her special burger, which was probably at least 3/4 of a pound and completely different from normal hamburgers. The meat was very delicious and tasty for sure. My wife had the homemade bean soup, two bowls, which was also very very, delightful. And, of course, we took home some apple strudel. Every time we come here, which is not often enough, we have a wonderful experience. Can’t recommend it enough. Five stars for sure*!!!
Robyn-Wonderful great friendly service great soup, salad and pizza. Our favorite new location. Mark-this is our second visit to Roka. On the first visit , Roka – the strong, was so polite and generous, and gave us a good tasting of some of the bakery samples. On this visit, she really laid out the red carpet. We started with homemade mushroom soup that was very light and delightful, and the lentil soup that was very rich and flavorful. The bread here is some kind of wonderful as well. Next she brought us a salad and some wonderful, not so spicy peppers, what nice flavors then came to two huge pizzas that were prepared expertly and with lots of love and care. We had a Vegan, that was a combination of mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, and sesame seeds. The best ROBYN has ever had. My pizza was a mushroom and smoked prosciutto, that had delightful earthly flavors. The crust was light and perfectly done in the Napolitano style. Hospitality and service here was for sure, five-star, as well as the food. We observed someone eating goulash and it looked spectacular. I will try it on our next visit. I highly recommend Roker for a nice lunch and to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. I was so happy, I was dancing on the table. 😂🤣
8/31/24 We were in the area going to Estate and garage sales, and decided to visit Roka Bakehouse. As we walked through the front door, I observed the fresh baked goods, and said to myself why don’t I come here more often. The various types of strudel were so mouth watering! Then, Roka pops out the kitchen door and greets my wife and I. As we were looking over the menu, Roka recommends the meatballs and smiles, saying they are special. we chose a couple other items and took a seat. in a few minutes, wonderful things started to happen. The meatballs appeared in a lovely red tomato sauce with mashed potatoes accompanying them. My wife’s mushroom soup looked wonderful and it disappeared in a matter of seconds. Our host prompted us to taste a pastry with leaks, that was just amazing. we also had a wonderfully fresh salad with cucumbers, mixed greens, and cabbage that was refreshing and delightful. Dining at this lovely location is always very special and the food is basically being prepared scratch kitchen style. Roka also warned us about the hamburgers, and she said on our next visit, we will have the opportunity to become addicted! For a wonderful dining experience, do yourself a favor and visit this place. And, take home some strudel, it’s the...
Read moreLet me start off by saying this is not my native food. We wanted to try something new and we ended up here. Now, the food appeared to be fresh and made to order when we were there. I can't say I am a huge loved of the cuisine in general but it's new to me and I don't want to judge to harshly. That said, I gave this 5 stars because the owner is simply outstanding. There's no other way to describe her attention to detail and she makes sure that you feel at home. If you don't like something she offers alternatives and even have us some free food to try . She is passionate about her work, she really does care. That alone would make me come back if not for the cuisine then for at least the baked goods! Keep up the good work and the passion you have for...
Read moreWhen you first walk in, you’ll notice the decor/seating are beautiful and cozy. Plenty of seating but it’s usually dead. If I had more time I would dine in and take more pictures. Service was eh, needs to be greatly improved. That was part of the reason why one star was removed. The other reason is they have no prices and labels made for any of the croissant sandwiches. It would save customers like me from asking what are the different kinds of sandwiches. The price is like $4 something a piece. They’re a good size, very filling, and flavorful. I got spinach and cheese and ham and cheese. They were freshly made, croissants were flaky, and moist on the inside. Even though the woman was not friendly, the...
