Rudy's Grill — Restaurant in Lyons Township

My brother-in-law use to be a regular at Rudy's as he worked for years at a local plant. However, he passed away last year. So, while in town briefly; I stopped in to get sandwiches before embarking on the highway.

I bought 3 combos; and 3 beefs that was over $48. Without hesitation, the staff graciously accommodated me in packing them up for the highway. I'd even tipped the 4 staffers with $2 bills each. However, we were all highly disappointed when we ate them!

Only the sausage on the combo was good and met my expectations. What is typically shaved beef was MUSH!!! It looked and tasted more like a beef hash! I was so upset and disappointed.

The kicker was that I'd bought two back for a good friend who raves over Scatchell's. Since I'd professed repeatedly that these were better: I was truly shamed. Although, I hadn't' had one since the pandemic, I wondered was it a new vendor? A cheaper meat? Had the beef been overcooked or repeatedly reheated? Whatever, it...

Just moved to the neighborhood so we thought we would try something new. Check your food before you leave! Ordered a chicken dinner with 2 corn dogs sounds simple right? I guess not. The dinner was supposed to include cole slaw fries and garlic bread and the guy on the phone even asked if i wanted fries or baked potato. It's 2020, a pandemic and I have kitchen fatigue. Tired of my own cooking so I perused Uber Eats for options and landed on Rudy's. The food is good! I've ordered from them 3 times in the last couple months. So far the family and I have tried the chopped steak burger, beef polish, chicken wings, gyro and Italian beef.
