Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Macon

Went here after the bathrooms were trashed, trash cans overflowing, and a super long line at Wendy’s drove us away.

There was no line- one person in Front of us. Appeared clean from the outside. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich ($6.89) a double cheeseburger ($6.99) and a large fries ($3.49). Unfortunately that is when I started reading reviews.🥺

For $18.76 I was hoping for better. As previously mentioned in other reviews , the burger was soaked in grease. It had soaked the box and 3 napkins I had placed under it to protect my jeans. There was nothing on it except for meat, cheese, and a soggy bun. No lettuce or condiments. We assumed that these items came on it- and the order taker did not ask if we wanted anything different or added so we assumed. The meat was over seasoned and so salty it was hard to eat. It pretty much mushed into a wad with all the grease. The fries were fair. Also over seasoned- pretty salty. The “special fry sauce” tasted like ketchup and mayonnaise mixed and was not special at all. The grilled chicken sandwich was pretty good. It had fresh shredded lettuce and 2 slices of greenish tomato. No sauce of any kind so I used some fry sauce which was not terrible. There is no way I would come back to this restaurant. I have no problem paying a premium price for takeout food when the food is quality- this food was not. The chicken sandwich- while the best thing in our grease soaked bag- was still marginal compared to Chick-fil-a. Also- only Pepsi products- Ug! We stopped at Circle K for a Coke. Absolutely TERRIBLE “service”!!!!! Dine-in was closed even though it said online that it’s open. The employees very rudely told us to go through the drive through. What’s the point in online ordering being available if dine-in is closed and you have to wait in a super long drive thru line? We pointed to our phone showing we ordered and paid for it over the phone, and the female employee literally turned around & walked away from us. Eventually she came back to the door and tossed us our food, HOWEVER.. every single item we ordered was prepared wrong. All 5 burgers were missing onions, mustard, pickles, etc., fries weren’t large like supposed to be & paid for, missing side sauces, wrong drinks, & we paid for a $4 bottle of sauce.. asked her if it was in the bag, was told yes.. & sure enough, wasn’t in the bag. Food was stone cold.. the cheese on the burgers was literally still cold and not melted at all so that’s how you know the steak burgers and rest of order isn’t made fresh like advertised. We spent $75 here and for that price you’d think the food wouldn’t be thrown together so sloppy. The girl who tossed us our food looked like she hated life and us, which is not appropriate and extremely unprofessional when you have a job in food service. She needs to find a new job if she’s so miserable. I mean, you can literally tell she doesn’t care one bit about her job. So I must say I honestly didn't come.in to this with superior expectations so I think that's an important perspective to this review. I ordered 2 things, the cheese curd bites and the double patty melt...cheese curds were absolutely a 5/5 banger all day long, fresh, cheesy, not mushy or overly greasy and I'd say a very good take on how cheese bites should go. The main reason this is a 3 star review lies with the party melt....1/5, meat was extremely over done, small and extremely disproportionately placed on the bread. I literally had a 5th of a patty on one half of the sandwich and a huge part on the other but it didn't even out because both patties were way too charred to be considered edible. The bread wasn't evenly sliced which I imagined contributed to the lack of evenly distributed meat and the cheese (which I imagine was sauce based) was non existent. The onions were perfect though and the bottled water I got was to be expected. I don't know if this was an off day or if this is the standard of this particular location but I'd really like to appreciate this place and I'll defit try them again in a week or so but to say I was underwhelmed is being polite. Hopefully I came at a time of training or understaffing which isn't atypical during this pandemic but I sincerely hope quality control is...
