Waffle House — Restaurant in Macon

Terrible service. That's a nice way of putting it. When me and my husband walked in there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant who were elderly. It took our waitress, Jalexus about 10 minutes to get to us because she was busy socializing with another employee (Wanda) who was relaxing eating a steak. We told her twice that we wanted our sweet teas in to go cups, but we still received our drinks in restaurant glasses. After she corrected this, we ordered two meals consistenting of a Texas bacon cheese steak onions and cheese on the hash browns and a Texas bacon Patty melt with double hash browns double ham and cheese. As the only cook (I believe his name was Neyonte-out of 3 that were actually working) was cooking our meal, we listened as Wanda and Jalexus talked terrible about their manager and belittled all their coworkers right in front of us. Then one of the lazy cooks stated he was "walking out" as Wanda advised him not to because he needs to get paid-and then he hopped in his blue Monte Carlo and disappeared for about 30-45 minutes. Meanwhile, a guy walked in who Wanda dubbed as "her customer". Wanda was still eating steak, so she demands that Neyonte the cook(who was the only one actually working at the time) to get the man two ice cups. The poor cook had to drop what he was doing and go wash his hands to fix this man's two ice cups(you guessed it-at NO CHARGE according to Wanda). The guy just holds one of the cups up like he's toasting Wanda on the way out. Anyhow, for the rest of our meal it was as if we were invisible until it came time for the check. The total according to Jalexus was $31 and some change. My husband added it up as we thought it was kind of high, and we discovered the total should have been $23 and some change. That really makes me wonder how often this over charge has occurred and hasn't been noticed? Where does the extra money go? When we were done paying for our meal, Wanda finally got up and decided to rejoin her co-workers working. As a past Waffle House employee myself-I hope the cook Neyante, is recognized for his diligent hard work and I hope management rectifies all the poor customer service skills and poor work habbits their employees are displaying in front of everyone in the restaurant. They are the face of your business! Unfortunately, I see most of the current reviews are similar to mine. I'm simply glad I was passing through and will NEVER ever revisit this Waffle...

Night staff is horrible. Dont expect a welcome when u walk in, there too busy sitting in the corner playing with there phones. The cooks seem to be good ppl, one in particular who had cooked me same meal 50 times offered to pay the difference from a bill i had that was being overcharged and ended up into 2 nightshift employees yelling and arguing. One employee started to bring another customer into the argument and i said 'why are u talking to this man? He doesnt work here, this mans trying to pay for his meal to get the hell out of here, he dont care about ur BS ur trying to drag him into'. Bottom line there is never a manager at night(apparently from 7 pm to 9 am). So it makes them even lazier because they dont have to worry about the boss. There free to act however they want to. . I called 2 days ago to talk to manager due to my meal the night before being over and under cooked. I gave lady on phone my name and number and still havnt heard from a manager. They deserve the title as the 'awfull house' that people...

I went into this restraunt tonight. There were four tables with no customers sitting at them but on one clean. There was a server sitting eating & two servers laughing behind the counter. I sat down & placed my drink order , 10 mins went by & I still had no drink. In those 10 mins I watched 2 groups of people walk out because no one was making an attempt to clean any of the other tables off. I finally just left. No one spoke to me other then to take my drink order which I sat & waited for. The staff was not even the slightest bit interested in doing there job. It was very unprofessional. I called up there to get the managers name after I left & immediately was told they weren't doing any orders over the phone that I needed to come in. When I asked for the manager name the girl asked & I quote "why what happened". & Started laughing in the phone so I hung up. I will never attempt to eat here again. The worst experience...
