TL:DR Do not recommend terrible service overcooked food. My experience here was terrible. We came in for my sisters birthday. As we advised of how many we told them 2 times that it was my sisters birthday. (this was the first 2 times we told them this) as we were seated at our hibachi grill we sat for 10 minutes before our server showed up to the table to get our drink orders. From that time it was another 10 minutes before I recieved my drink (I ordered a water) the waiter came out he seemed extremely annoyed that in an almost empty restaurant I asked for my glass of water after having been at my table for 20 minutes. when we did get our drinks we recieved them in foam to-go cups (we are all adults no children in our party) we ordered our food i got the hibachi chicken my mother ordered the steak and shrimp as well as my sister. we also ordered several rolls of sushi. the chef came out he was friendly enough but they did not portion out the food properly in prep and because of that they had to go back to the kitchen to get more supplies which is not a big deal except for the fact that for the fried rice our rice was left on the grill for to long it became crunchy (mind you hibachi style we were sat with another group) we were served our food last my chicken was a little over cooked my mother and sister requested their steak mid rare it was cooked to well done and was a cheap cut of meat as it was extremely tough and chewy. my water was refilled all of 2 times while we were seated at the table and at one point my cup sat empty for 20-30 minutes. we recieved our sushi order towards the end of the meal. we had to ask our waiter to bring us wasabi that took another 10 minutes for him to come back with wasabi. i do not remember his name but he was a younger guy with tattoo's his demeanor wasn't friendly until the end of our meal. when paying $20-30 per person for the hibachi meal and spending another $40 on sushi alone I expect much better service. They never once mentioned my sisters birthday. and when we complained at the end of the meal as we were paying our waiter had the audacity to tell us he gave us excellent service. (at one point I almost got up to grab the pitcher of...
Read moreMy fiance and I are sushi fanatics. From Warner Robins to Macon. This is by far our favorite. The price is just like any other restaurants, but the portions are huge! They do not skimp on the fish or ingredients at all. I've never tasted so much fish on (and in) a bite till today. I came in expecting not to get filled up so I ordered a chicken hibachi (comparable to other restaurants, my favorite being at Shoki's) to go with our 3 orders of sushi (Rock n Roll, Hawaiian Roll, and Black dragon roll). The waiter did mention that it was going to be a lot of food before we placed the order, but I rejected based on my experience and our big appetite. I took home a big takeout box enough for one full meal the next day.
I do not recommend the black dragon roll. I've never seen a place serve literally a whole Eel, so I was excited to try because I've always liked Eel. Needless to say, we avoided that one. It was too much Eel (chewy texture) and did not blend in with the roll for us. I now don't like Eel as much as I did before, lol. The Rock n Roll and Hawaiian Roll will definitely be on our list for the next visit soon to come. Their raw sushi selection, portion, and freshness is spectacular.
This will be our go to restaurant for sushi now. Worth the 30 minute drive. They seem to be owned and operated by Koreans based on the spoken language between workers. You can taste it in the ingredients that they use. I am a bit biased as I absolutely love Korean food. For 2 people minus tip our bill was $56. I couldn't have been happier and didn't feel cheated like I always do walking out of a restaurant. That was a big plus.
They seemed a bit understaffed when I was there in the evening times. The workers were practically running back and forth. We had to ask to have our waters refilled (small glass), but they did it right away. I felt bad for asking one of them because they all looked so busy. The atmosphere was nice, especially with the Zen garden. The place is roomy although a bit awkward when we first entered into a large lobby-like room. Decor seemed nice, although I didn't pay much attention.
Otherwise, I definitely recommend it for those...
Read moreAlright i normally dont write these kinds of things but this place means a lot to me and my family so I've gotta say something. Let me first start by saying Paul I'm sorry to hear about your tumor and I hope you get better soon, that being said the new sushi chef straight up sucks!!! Now I don't like to give reviews only when things are going bad, but things are going bad! This place was special, when ever family came into town or we had a special occasion we went here! My family was stationed in Japan for a decade and we've been to a million different sushi places, but never would you find a place as unique as this place when it came to the size and quality of the sushi here! The sushi here used to be massive!!! It was f%^king amazing!!! We didn't feel like we got ripped off with tiny pieces of sushi when we'd go and spend 150$ on sushi there (And yes when ever we go here we spend AT LEAST 150$) We went in today unfortunately and got pieces of sushi literally a fourth of the size they used to be, rolls a third of the size they used to be, but same price as the old stuff. I get it, traditional portions of sushi are smaller and if people like them smaller go to any damn sushi place in town trust me there's plenty of them. We drive 30 minutes to get to this place and spend a lot of money every time, but with the way their sushi is now we don't even see the point in going here anymore. If you're looking for sushi just go to publix or find a nice all you can eat sushi place, because thats the quality you're going to get here except you're going to pay 3 times the price! This really sucks because like I said we loved the old sushi chefs stuff and had been going here for years. It's like the end of an era for me! Oh well hopefully the old sushi chef comes back!
p.s. The waiters are nice though, and I dont know about the rest of the food here, but I'm sure it's fine. My family normally just goes for the sushi! so just take this as a review for the sushi and not the...
