We're surprised and saddened ourselves that we have to report that we didn't like our breakfast the other day. It's Cristy's for cryin' out loud! But first, let me please share this little bit with you, As we left the restaurant that day shaking our heads, Debby said was it us? Our looks? It was late morning and I had just recovered from an early morning procedure, so we were both croggy in our own ways and all we wanted was food. Was it the weather? Blustery and very chilly with partial sunshine...nope, it just had to have been one of those rare bad days for them, us and everything in the universe and with that being said, on with the review. We walked through the front doors and you still felt cold in the restaurant. Others coming in after we had sat down were saying the same thing. Strike One. We found a table and we ordered our breakfast. Coffee and Cinnamon Raisin French Toast for Debby. I ordered Coffee and Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Home Fries, and Buttered Wheat Toast. Our waitress really needed to speak up. We kept having to say what, what, what. I'm deaf in one ear, but Debby can hear a pin drop, so it was getting annoying. Strike 2. Our food comes out after a short wait and it looks good! Debby says that hers taste good, but it's warm, not hot like it should be and she was expecting, but still okay to eat. I take a bite of my eggs and they're warm. I shake my head and take a bite of potato. Warm! Next bite cold! One more bite of potato from another spot. Cold! That's it! I'm not eating the potatoes. The toast and bacon were the warmest foods on the plate. No, we don't have food returned, reheated, recooked, etc. We're not at home. We're out to eat and we expect our food to be close to what we ordered and hot when it arrives at the table. If it's perfect or beyond our expectations, great! Our waitress never checked on us anyway, so we had her remove the potatoes when she came with the bill. We should have just paid the $1. It took forever to get a corrected bill. Debby asked another waitress to speak to someone in authority while we were waiting. 10 minutes later after we paid the bill and lower scale tipped our waitress we left. Yes, it was a long story, but it had to be told. As I said, I it was just one of those bad days. I went home and went to bed for the...
Read moreI never leave negative reviews but had to make an exception here. Probably most egregious, we were informed we had to get bottled water and seltzer and tap was not available. Are you washing the lettuce on my burger with bottled water? I would guess not, seems an awful lot like a money grab to me. If it is indeed that unsafe to drink the water the board of health ought to be in there because I can guarantee they are not washing their vegetables with bottled water. IMO you probably shouldn't order one of the many salads they have on the menu in that case.
Still hung around after that which was probably a mistake because service was very bad, all wait staff seemed discombobulated aside from the food runner who was on point. Food was no better, the guac was packaged with chopped cilantro mixed in, and my wife's chicken sandwich was microwaved and overcooked to oblivion. My burger I ordered medium, was still piping hot after eating half of it, proving that too was microwaved to death. Didn't try to talk to management, just straight up will never come back no matter what.
Again, not someone who takes to yelp or google for nothing, I normally just let bad dining experiences roll off my back but this was especially bad, and this place certainly does not deserve a 4.5+ rating, maybe 2 stars on their...
Read moreCame here for lunch, not to stay at the hotel. We've had very good meals here in the past. This time my daughter got adventurous and strayed from her normal plain or chocolate chip pancake order to try the pumpkin pancake and also had an order of sausage. I had the French onion soup and a glass of wine. My soup and wine were excellent. My daughter's pancake did not taste at all like pumpkin. It wasn't plain but it wasn't pumpkin. My daughter said it tasted a little like chapstick. The sausage was more like a kielbasa than a sausage. I didn't hate it but my daughter did. The waitress did ask if everything was okay and my daughter said yes (to avoid conflict). So really they didn't have a chance to make things right since we didn't tell them there was any problem. Service was excellent; our waitress was attentive and food came quickly. Atmosphere is always really nice here. We were a little disappointed that there were no window tables available except for one larger table (for 4 or 5) but they didn't want to seat us there because we were only a party of two. I get that but there were a couple of interior tables/booths that a larger party could have sat at if they came in. I'll be back and if I can get my daughter to come back with me she will stick with the yummy chocolate chip pancakes...
