Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Madison

I've been to many Sonics across the country, and this one is the best by far. This is not the closest Sonic to our house (we pass others to get here), but we will continue to drive farther to go to this location. The others are awful.

The staff is super friendly, the location is very clean, and the food is hot and delicious. In addition to the typical Sonic outdoor seating, this location has good quality patio furniture including wicker ottomans and chairs. Each table also has a plant on it - the nice furniture and homey touch of plants just push this Sonic feel to the next level.

On our way out, we noticed the sign that said this location is voted as one of the top 12 locations in the US - nothing about that surprises me.

Review edited: we ordered a 5 piece chicken tender meal, got it home, and were disappointed by the 3 tiny tenders we got. They were not even tasty. Come on, you guys are...

We were shorter an order of onion rings. We pushed the button to notify and they said they would send some right out. We ate and then ordered ice cream. The ice cream arrived and I asked about the onion rings and they said they put them in a bag and delivered them to the car in the stall next to us. She went back in to get a new one and came out and said since they already sent some out (even though it was not to our stall) they could not do anything about it unless I had a receipt. We had just thrown out trash away so I went to go pull it out of the trash but it was covered already. She apologized and said the manager and owner were inside and wouldn’t allow her to get us the items ordered.

Good food when they get it right but unfortunately there have been a lot of misses recently. Messing up the order, excluding things we paid for, and quality randomly off. Up until about 12 months ago (pre-COVID) we never had issues but since COVID the chances of order actually being right are very low.

Update: went back and the manager said next time I come in they would cover my meal. The guy I spoke with said that's only applicable for 2 weeks and they should have told me (they did not). I then went and proceeded to pay for my order. Thankfully I checked it before I pulled away and they left half my order out AGAIN. The manager didn't even address yet another mishap and they did eventually get me my full order but I will not...
