Southern Spirits — Restaurant in Madison

Went to Southern Spirits for a rehearsal dinner during my stay in North Carolina. The private event space was absolutely massive! Everything was taken care of by the staff and those who coordinated the event.

The parents of the groom ordered me chicken tenders from downstairs and they were the crunches and juiciest chicken tenders I ever had. Take notes, Zaxby's and Raising Canes!

I went downstairs towards the end of the night and tried the fried pickles. This is the first time I have not gotten food poisoning from fried pickles like I have back in Florida. Even when I ate all my leftovers yesterday, the fried pickles stayed crispy and crunchy no matter what even after I put them in the fridge at the BNB I was staying at.

I wish that Southern Spirits was in my state because I want to try a lot more from the menu. This was my favorite restaurant in North Carolina hands down!

In April 2019 I had a 2 drink bad experience. Next thing I know the 1/3 owner (and daughter) jumped in my face asking if I have a problem with her drinks and I said yes. So she told me to let another employee make my drinks. , I said Great, she makes Great drinks. She does not need to interact with public in any way. Put her in the back outta sight. Just went back for a 2nd chance, no change. Same girl, same outcome. Rude to customer and not sympathetic at all. Wrong food came out 2 times. She offers a taco salad as a replacement. Not what we ordered. When we spoke to said daughters mother, we saw where the attitude comes from. Our large group will not be back and we will share our bad trip with all who will listen. I had no idea originally that it was a bar and restaurant. Looked like an abandoned antique store from outside. Found them when I typed in " food near me" while at a brewery up the street. Good food , burger tasty but dry. Home made chips were yummy. I took it to go. Wished they would have not left me without a napkin or ketchup packets. I will still get food from there again....
