Normally we have a great experience at this Waffle House but tonight was the worst experience we have had EVER. The ONLY reason that i even gave it 3 stars is because the 2 cooks (both male) were doing a phenomenal job and were on top of everything the best they could be. I would give the wait staff there tonight 0 (ZERO) stars if i could. Im not going to call them out by name on here but it was absolutly horrible. We were the last table in to be seated for dine in (about 8:15) and it wasnt near as busy as ive seen it before with 2 other tables and 1 to-go order there. The cook polietly came over and let us know that they were cleaning the grill and that it would be just a few minutes (which was fine) and he actually took our drink order because it hadnt been done yet. The waitress started taking our order but stopped in the middle of it so she could go cash out a pickup to go order. The cook actually ended up getting our drinks for us, without us asking. A bit after that she still hadnt came back to get our order and one of the cooks started calling out for any of the waitresses to please come take our order. The cook asked if we were getting any waffles and said that they could go ahead and start those (we were, 1 all-star). Our waitress had finally come over to finish taking our order and somehow ended up getting what i would consider a simple order slightly wrong (left off cheese on the hashbrowns). It was only downhill from there. My son drunk all of his drink within a few minutes, before food got there, and i took off his lid and set the cup near the napkins so she could see it was empty and needed to be filled. We got our food really quickly and other than cheese missing off hashbrowns, my sons waffle the cook was making him got taken to another table or to go order (no one knows what actually happened to it). We were never brought butter or jelly for toast. I had to ask for my sons waffle to be made after waiting about 20 minutes for them to bring it (again, but this time i asked the cook, who was polite about it and even apologized for something that wasnt his fault) while our waitress stood at the other end of the restraunt kind of hanging around. My son's cup NEVER got refilled at all and neither did mine or my spouse's. Plates were never taken off the table. Everything seemed to be falling back on the two cooks who were working their butts off and doing jobs that were not theirs while there were 3 capable waitresses standing there. They kept apologizing but i could tell they were trying to be polite and were obviously, and understandably so, frustrated with at least 2 out of 3 of the waitresses there. Overall, this was the worst experience ive had at any Waffle House. The only reason it was ok was that it seemed like the cooks were trying to go above and beyond the scope of their jobs to try to make sure customers got what...
Read moreMy fiance and I ordered our food. While we waited we watched a yelling match between the chef and another worker over something. As they served the eggs, hash browns, and bacon, they said they made my fiances sandwich with bread instead of biscuits, so we ate the eggs and hash while continuing to wait. The waitress drops off the correct biscuits with our sides of bacon and keeps moving, so I tell my fiance to go ahead and start eating, assuming my waffle will be out soon. I try to snack on my bacon while I wait but the bacon is cold. Not just cooled off, I mean room temperature. We don't see the waitress again until about 10 minutes later when she comes up and asks how everything is. My fiance mentions we are still waiting on my waffle. The waitress is very apologetic. She had started it but forgot because the timer is broken. The chef, likely having overheard, runs over to the waffle iron and gets a waffle started. She (the waitress) throws her hands up in defeat and tells him (the chef) the waffle is burned because the timer is broken. The chef gets a new waffle started and starts the timer with no issue. At this point my fiance has eaten all he's going to and I just want to go home. So he goes to the register pays for our meal, tells them to please make the waffle to go, and bring another to go box for his food. When the waffle is ready she brings it in a box in a bag and hands it to him. He has to ask again for another to go box for the rest of his leftovers.
To their credit they took our drinks and the bacon off the bill. People are human and things happen but bottom line the employees were fighting, part of the food was made incorrectly and had to be remade, part of the food was served cold, and the other part was...
Read moreThis is absolutely the worst experience we have ever had. The one lady who was worth anything...was telling us that this wasn't her normal crew and they aren't prepared and ready for tonight. I watched her try to be a cook, fix other waitresses tickets at checkout, and well...fix our drinks. Then she turned on us...yes because we started questioning if our order was ever put in. When I mean turned, she said that they are trying. When we finally got our food after 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting for our food, it was burnt. Our waffles came 10 minutes after our other food and those were so crispy. The ladies asked me if I wanted to speak to the manager...well, the manager was one of the cooks. Who never stepped in...never once. He was so shy and quiet. Never moved out of his one spot. One other waitress told us to leave because we were talking about the crazy situation with other customers (who agreed that it was the worst experience). On a side note, I watched them discuss how to cook an omelette...try to serve one. Throw that one away because the customer wasn't happy. Try again...they put it in a to go container. Then I watched that lady complain and throw it away on her way out the door after she paid for it. I could go on and on about how dirty the place was, how the manager on duty didn't have closed toed shoes (slides), how we never got refills AFTER telling us she would but then got busy, heard many customers warn us to leave...but I guess I will stop. I think you get the point. By the way...there were 2 cooks and 3 waitresses. So the excuse of we didn't have enough people...isn't true. Yes, I will be calling corporate Monday at 8am and tell them to...
