South Main Dine In — Restaurant in Madisonville

My wife and I had heard how wonderful this place is. We went for Breakfast on Saturday morning. The place was about 2/3 full so we decided to go in. We sat and waited for a few minutes.....not long.....to get drink orders placed. Another 5 minutes or so to place food order. In a few minutes I started smelling a spoiled grease smell and noticed that the deep fryer grease recycling system is literally out in the middle of the restaurant and the smell is VERY strong. After about 30 minutes or so, we asked a couple next to us that were regulars about the wait, they said oh it's not unusual to wait this long. We finally got our food about an hour after walking in. The food was good but not hot at all, very warm you might say. We won't be visiting again for breakfast. There are no bacon and eggs worth waiting an hour on. I was hoping this was just abnormal but both the customers we spoke to AND the waitress confirmed that the wait was normal. Back to the Huddle...

The wife and I moved from California and were looking for locally owned places to patron. We chose this place and unfortunately were very disappointed. After being seated, we started looking around. The soda fountain syrup boxes are in the middle of the dining area and plain sight, there was a lot black mold all over the air ducts above our table. The the general area was very dirty and in disrepair. The wife wanted to leave as soon as we sit down but I was starving and decided to wait it out. The food was OK. Standard breakfast food. I didn't taste any cross taste. However, we will not be returning due the state of the place. They really need to invest in a complete remodel or...

My family and I just moved to Earlington and we ventured out this weekend looking for breakfast when we came across this diamond in the rough! Not only did we have a breakfast worth napping over, but we came back for a late lunch, early dinner, because not one thing was even remotely off or not right about our meal. I mean everything was so good that I had to ask the lady if they made their own brown sugar in house because it was so fresh tasting.
