Can I give 10 stars?! WHAT A PLACE. This is living for Christ in EVERYTHING you do. Traveling through south Mississippi we came across this place as our bellies were growling. What we experienced was far beyond having our bellies filled with some of the absolute BEST cooking either of us have ever tasted, and that is saying alot from my husband! I am not exaggerating! But more than the excellent food, whole place engulfed us into the presence of the Lord as soon as we walked in. Beautiful paintings depicting the life of Christ, Bethel music videos declaring the glory of God and everyone serving with joy in their hearts and on their faces. Then.. THEN as I made my third trip to the buffet.. 😳 .. small portions.. I heard one of the bus boys, a handsome young man named Qudre, speaking the truth of the word of God to one of his coworkers. His face was beaming, the confidence in the Lord and joy in his heart could not be held in! As he went on to tell this young lady about the hope and instruction found in God’s word I just could not help myself from declaring AMEN! And he declared! Come on now! This is church! AMEN AND AMEN. I was able to talk to Qudre later.. the same thing. The Holy Spirit and Gods anointing was all over him. As we left I told the management how much we enjoyed our visit at their restaurant and about our experience. Then I saw Qudres picture on the table. He has recorded a song on YouTube. But another also happened during our meal. I saw something else that I have know in my heart to be true. All these people(mainly up north) trying make our nation divided by color, you folks need to visit the Deep South. We gave that mess up a long time ago and it hasn’t been as deep and as bad as what we see today for many many many decades. Oh Mississippi has a history, a rich history of rich people and poor people and that didn’t fall on racial lines. What a blessing to see how far we have come as southerners, people gathered to eat in a place that glorifies our Creator, no body thinking about race. And I have witnessed that for decades too. Christ is a common ground. And despite everything the deep south has a whole lot of Christ followers. I think folks up north need a full plate of how we do that down here, through Christ, humble living and good ole southern hospitality. I LOVE MY HOME STATE. “No more expensive than...
Read moreI describe my experience as terrible overall being that they do not believe in accommodating their customers. We had a party of 13. Everyone ate the $21.95 buffet with the exception of my mother and myself. I had the crab leg entree, and she had the gumbo entree. My crab legs got cold so fast that you woulda thought they'd been on ice. My mother was COMPLETELY disappointed in her gumbo. We've both had better out of the Campbell's Soup can. She had water to drink and I had tea. With the gratuity that they added along with the tax, my bill came out to be around $35.00 or $36.00. Now factor in the $21.95 x 11 plus the gratuity and taxes from everyone else's bills. Do the math and see how much money they made from our table alone. Just to think that we couldn't even enjoy this super-expensive subpar food comfortably because of the super fast ceiling fans hanging over our heads that had us all feeling like we were on the outside. We were freezing our behinds off trying to eat our food that was cold after only a few minutes on the table due to the ceiling fans:-(. Several people in our party asked our waitress if she could have them turn the ceiling fans above our table off or at least slow them down. She told us that she couldn't and didn't care to offer an explanation as to why or to get us a manager or anything. SAD!!! Never again will I EVER step foot back into this establishment!!! They act as if they're doing us a favor by letting us eat here...A LIE!!! Then the fact that I've had better food coming out of the kitchen of family and friends (even my very own kitchen) does not make this expensive subpar experience ANY better!!! The people in McGee think that they have a gem. Poor people don't know any better. I refuse to patronize a business who can't accommodate me by simply turning down OR OFF a freaking ceiling fan in exchange for our $277.45 plus the tax and gratuity that they made off of our table...PATHETIC!!!!! We definitely could have picked a tastier and more accommodating place to celebrate my cousin's birthday. You live and you...
Read moreTBH this place is horrible. I am from Oklahoma and was traveling to Florida when me and my family decided to sit down and eat instead of getting some fast food and eating in the car. When we first walked in, the vibe was off. It was terribly quiet and they didn’t greet us. The food was decent but definitely not worth 34 dollars a person which doesn’t include the drinks. We asked why it was 34 dollars a person and the lady responded with “it’s because of the seafood.” I would like to add that the only seafood they had was crab, shrimp, fried clams and catfish. THATS IT. We also had my 3-year-old sister with us and her meal too was 34 dollars, which is ridiculous because she is 3 years old and barely eats. So the bill came up to 294 because there was seven of us but only three of us actually ate seafood. Money isn’t an issue for us but we definitely weren’t expecting to pay basically $300 for all of us and a child considering it was supposed to be a quick stop on our way to Florida. I would also like to mention that the service was below average. Our waitress checked on us once and it was not busy at all. Their was also multiple waitresses so, she wasn’t alone. The buffet was very limited as well as the dessert. We trusted this place because of the outside. It is a religious restaurant with our lord and savior on the outside and a big cross, we thought to try it out but maybe that is how they...
