What a great restaurant to have in Mahomet. Upon arrival, the design of the building grabs you right away, and then all of the little details—the custom benches. Then you step inside and can’t help but say ‘Wow!’. The wall of candles is such a striking first impression, as is the rest of the building, including the custom light fixtures, and other metalwork around the space. Lots of little details to take in. There is a neat sculptural fountain installation in part of the dining area. It is a restaurant—service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The opening chips and house salsa is tasty. The menu has standard fare as well as some other specialties I would love to try in the future. I went with the carne asada tacos, cilantro/onion and lime. Wonderfully cooked, great flavor. We came for lunch and the food arrived fast. If I had a wish it would be for a salsa option for the tacos. Very pleased with my first visit and I look forward to returning.

I ordered the poblano burrito and was very disappointed with both the presentation and quality of the food. The burrito immediately fell apart, with the tortilla completely soggy and torn. It was more like a pile of shredded chicken tossed on top of pieces of tortilla. The chicken itself was dry and lacked seasoning, and the ingredients seemed thrown together with little care. There were a few scattered kernels of corn and strips of pepper, but nothing cohesive or flavorful. The rice was barely present, and what was there looked and tasted old. Overall, the dish had no balance and was unappetizing in appearance and taste. For the price, I expected something much fresher, properly prepared, and actually resembling a burrito. Unfortunately, this was not it. Definitely would not recommend ordering the poblano burrito here.

This building has a cool atmosphere inside and out. They give complimentary tortilla chips that were very good. The pork belly bites had a good guac and very decent amount of food for an appetizer, but the pork belly was a little dry and lacking flavor. I was disappointed with my burrito as it did not include rice or beans inside, but that was my own fault for not reading the menu carefully. The paella was delicious and flavorful! I only wish it had more shrimp. The portions here are rather large and you could very easily share them or take leftovers home.

Highly recommend!! A friend and I dined in for lunch and can say we left very pleased. We read up on alot of the reviews before going and then decided to try it out for ourselves to make our own opinions. When we walked up they had salt down for the snow and had caution signs needed including rugs to prevent slipping. When we walked in we were pleasantly impressed by the decor and they had the traditional music playing. We where greeted immediately with smiling faces and positive attitudes. They were quick to bring our chips and salsa which were some of the best we’ve had. Chips where hot and fresh and the salsa was full of flavor. I ordered the steak tacos and my friend the papas asada. Food came out in a timely manner and presentation was perfect. Our steak meat wasnt dry at all and the food perfect in temperature and full of flavor. We were very pleased and my friend who had some left over was quite excited to eat the rest later for dinner 🤣 our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable about things and was able to answer questions accordingly and checked on us often. We never had an empty cup. All the tables and floors looked to be cleaned well and didnt stay unattended to very long after customers left. Both the mens and woman’s bathrooms where very clean and tidy and the lighting through the whole restaurant including the bathrooms where very calming, not to bright and not to darkening. Even the temperature was comfortable. Ive been in restaurants where it was either stifling hot or so cold i had to eat in my jacket. It was not the case here. Overall we were very pleased with our experience and will definitely be returning again...

I don't care how neat the building looks if the food, service, and value are terrible....and that was the experience I had.

-Server, while nice, spoke such poor English it was hard to order. -Specialty drink was nasty and overpriced. (papaya one) -Pulled pork tacos were huge chunks, mostly unrendered fat, and no seasoning! Literally just fatty plain pork dripping grease. -Burger was coarse ground beef with hard uneatable bites that hurt your teeth when you bite down on them. (cartilage? Bone?) Ordered the Hawaiian and it didn't come with the pineapple it was supposed to. Fries were seasoned but undercooked and soft. Ketchup on the table is the cheap kind with high fructose corn syrup as the first ingredient..."Fancy Ketchup"....yeah. -I only got a burger because they didn't sell beef enchiladas. Why? -They only have Cholula hot sauce on the table...so if you wanted a verde green sauce or anything else you're out of luck. -Free chips were boring, under salted, and not fresh feeling. -Free salsa was also boring and in such a tiny container it was sad. Half a cup maybe. Breaking Taco's chips and salsa was 100x better but their meat also had the same fatty issues. -While the entrance is pretty looking the wing they sat us in was cold and had zero decorations...like eating in a drafty hallway.

Left sad and disappointed and will likely...

Waited 35 mins for the host to call a table number that was 10 behind ours who had just gotten there. The host called our table number then left the host station while we were standing waiting to be seated. He walked off to start bussing the bar then came back and called the next table while we were still waiting to be seated. We finally get seated to a dirty table that had not been cleaned and only got given 2 sets of silverware for 4 people. The menus were dirty as well. The salsa tastes like it has seafood mixed into it (the spicy salsa is 10x better) also the salsa is pre poured into bowls and stacked on trays for god nows how long with the bottom of the tray sitting on the rim of the salsa bowls. Guacamole is extremely bland, no acid or salt or any flavor insight. It just tastes like plain mushed avocado. We waited over an hour to get food that was cold all the way through and wrong. The pork "belly" tacos were just pulled pork. When we told the waiter he didn't know what to do and asked us what we wanted him to do about it. We didn't even get to eat our food and refused to pay for the main courses because it was all cold and half of it was wrong. So we ended up leaving angry and hungry. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant and do not recommend going...
