Mr. Mofongo — Restaurant in Maitland

My cousin told me about this place. She thought they had moved. They haven't. To make things even better they are 5 minutes from my job. But even if it was an hour it would still be worth it. I got the mofongo and chicharones de pollo for lunch. I nearly cried. The last time I had fried chicken like that was when my mom was still alive. The garlic is just enough. Had enough for three meals. Got the mofongo con camarones for dinner. Tasted the shrimp al ajillo and again just the right touch of garlic. The two meals were $22 with tax but since it's just me I can get four meals out of it. Absolutely perfect food. The guys working there...

This place was really delicious! Authentic Puerto Rican food. I ordered a Mofongo con Carne Frita, and it was great. The pork was cooked perfect and still juicy, not dried out and over cooked like most places. The Mofongo was really good too, but missing the crunchy chicharrones that are typically put in them. The truck is hidden behind a fence and large tarp with a couple plastic picnic tables to sit and eat, so it's easy to miss as you drive by. Over all great food, but I recommend calling in and ordering ahead of time since there tends to be a wait for food...

The very first time I came here, my order was done to perfection. Everything was great and I fell in love. A beautiful hidden Gem I found. Every time I go there I order the same thing Chicken Mofongo.
