When we got there, there was only 1 person in front of us, and he seemed to take a while to order. There were 4 customers standing off to the side waiting on their order, which should have been a sign that something was wrong. After the customer in front of us was finished, it was our turn... but the lady didn't take our order! Instead, she started packing chicken into boxes. There were 5 people in the back moving food around and 2 people walking around also packing up boxes, so I'm not sure why she couldn't take our order. (And, yes, she was the only one working at the registers.) Then we waited and waited. Then she came to the register, but then talked to another customer, and then walked away. Then she came to the register a second time, but talked to another customer instead of taking our order. Then a second lady asked if we had placed an order, I said no, and she told the first lady to take our order, but she didn't! (By the way, none of the ladies were wearing name tags so I don't know anyone's names. But the first lady was a young, heavyset African-American woman and the second lady was a little older, thin African-American woman.) After about 10 minutes, she took our order. And again, there was no one in front of us to hold up the line. Then she couldn't get the order right: my wife said she wanted RICE, but the lady asked what kind of FRIES. Then she finished the order, I paid, and she gave us the cups to get drinks. We got drinks and my wife sat down to wait while I stood next to the counter. After a few minutes (yes, a few more minutes), the second lady said "Sir, can I gave your receipt". I asked why and she said the first lady didn't put my order into the computer correctly so they need my copy to see what we ordered! So they we waited and waited and waited. (Keep in mind that we're getting very hungry for "fast food".) While we were waiting, 2 other people came in and ordered. The first lady was quick to take their order, however, they had to wait for food also. Then the second lady gave these people their order! This was now about 20 minutes after we had come in so I asked why the other customers got their order first and why were still waiting for our food. She said that they were out of mild chicken, but those customers ordered spicy chicken, but since I ordered mild chicken, my order wasn't ready. Okay, this is fine, but it would have been nice if she told us this 20 minutes ago so I could have ordered something else. Actually, no, it's not fine- this is supposed to be a chicken restaurant, so how to they run out of chicken? Or if they're out of one type, then say that before people put in their order.
We finally got our food 25 MINUTES AFTER WE FIRST WALKED IN! I checked our orders to make sure they were right, and everything looked okay: we got the rice instead of fries, as we ordered. But at that point, we were so annoyed by the service that we took the food home rather than staying and eating there.
When we got home, we found that my wife got light meat even though she ordered the dark meat and one of the chicken pieces that I ordered seemed to be very small. I understand that the 2-piece meal includes random chicken sizes, but after waiting 25 minutes, they could have thrown in a larger piece an apology for making us wait so long.
So, needless to say, we will NEVER be back to this Popeye's: there's another Popeye's to the north of us which we'll...
Read morePopeyes has had me in a chokehold for a minute now. Usually I don’t like this location bc they are very slow for drive thru orders and on a regular basis they are always asking you to pull up and park for them to bring your order out like they don’t have enough food made to fulfill their orders. When they do that they take even longer to bring your food out to you, I guess bc now that you’re out of their line it’s not priority (the longer a car is in their drive thru the more they get penalized bc it’s on a timed system, majority drive thru restaurants are like this which is the reason for them asking you to leave the line if your order will take long). Which deters me from eating here more often. Idk how they could be so busy all the time bc they don’t even take orders inside anymore so it’s just a bunch of workers cooking and prepping orders. There are two kiosks to place an order they don’t take your order at the counter. But lately I’ve been going by ordering on the app and picking up in store. Way faster. The customer service has been egh, the female manager is nice but always either outside taking to someone parked in their car or has little kids running around seemingly hanging out at the restaurant eating free food. This is a very regular occurrence. I’ve even seen here walk in on her off day in plain clothes no uniform and go behind the counter and start fixing herself food with bare hands. Disturbing but not my main concern with this particular restaurant. My main issue is wait time and the food being inconsistent with portion sizes. Last time my mashed potatoes barely had anything in the container not even half way filled with no gravy on it this week it was spilling over the lid and in the bag. Same with the mac n cheese. Same with the fries. Sometimes the fries taste old/hard and sometimes they’re hot and fresh. Sometimes they just throw fries loose in the small paper bags no sleeve sometimes they use the sleeve but don’t fill it up. They bag your sides first and take them from under the heating lamp but will have you waiting 20-30 minutes for chicken (specially spicy) so by the time you get your order the sides are ice cold. The meal deals have been good lately so I will continue to come occasionally since this is the closest location to me. It’s a hit or miss with waiting, very few times I’ll get my food less than 10 minutes, more times than not I’m waiting for 30+ minutes. I’d give them an overall 4 for the actual food (when it’s fresh) and a 1 closer to zero for the...
Read moreDo not go here! This is the second time we’ve had issue with this location. We were in the drive-thru, last night. After me inquiring about the menu and the Holiday Meal deal still showing on the sign (which I was told was still valid), My roommate asked how many tenders you can get with it instead of chicken, because it says tenders on the sign as well as being a possible choice. This worker, who happened to be female, immediately copped attitude and said that it was not a thing. I mentioned that we were just asking because it is indeed listed on the menu. She then proceeded to carry more of an attitude saying that it does not and that if we would like her to get her manager she’d be happy to do so. I said that it was not necessary as we were just asking a simple question. A man then comes on the drive thru speaker, which was the manager, who she had gotten, and asks us to pull to the window to talk. We pull up and he asks up wasup, this was clearly a young manager who liked the title but didn’t want to do his job. I told him to ask his employee because we had not asked for him and were just trying to order. I had explained the previous situation of inquiring about tenders and the holiday deal etc. He proceeds to tell me that deal ended yesterday. That’s fine. So, we then are inquiring about their 12 piece family dinner which is always on their menu and also says you can get tenders rather than regular chicks . He then proceeds to tell me that’s not a thing. I mentioned it being listed that way on the menu, all the while he doesn’t even know what family deal I’m talking about. He also, apparently cannot year half of what I’m saying so it is clear I’m still in a pretty calm tone. He clearly didn’t know his menu, didn’t care about his employee copping attitude he way she did and asking for him in the first place. We said we are just going to go to a different Popeyes (which we did and they were wonderful). Upon leaving he window, right after that, there was a sign on their window talking about the 9 piece in either chicken pieces or tenders. Popeyes definitely needs to go check this location and do a purge. There is no care what so ever being put in to help the customer and no care in their inventory either (issue from the first time). And, no, I am not one that believes the customer is always right because there are moments when that’s been proven wrong but this interaction was...
