This market is a halal supermarket that also has long freezer cases, dry goods/staples/condiments/canned items, a bakery, a hot food bar, and a butcher in the back. I went last year when the market was smaller, more jumbled, and the aisles were more cramped.
They have since expanded the space as of 2025, and the place is cleaner, brighter, have longer and wider aisles, the shelves are stacked neatly and orderly, and there are a few tables and chairs near the hot food bar to sit and eat.
Pros:
This place is open 7 days a week, is part of a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking, and except for extremely large full-size halal supermarkets further out of the city, this is probably the most diverse one I've seen, with the most varied items.
Frozen meals, meats, seafood, baking items, condiments, spice boxes, whole spices, fresh produce, fresh bread, ouds/perfumes/incense, religious items, toiletries, homemade desserts, fresh cut meats, bulk rice/grains/oil, cooking pots/utensils, canned goods, drinks, etc from the entire MENA region, South Asia, the Caribbean, parts of Africa, and South America.
Every time I've gone there are shoppers from all over the world, and you can find "hard to find" brands/specialty items from specific cities (ex. My husband is from Tamil Nadu but grew up in Oman and the UAE and he found products he hasn't seen since he was a kid).
You can also request certain things, and they have good deals during religious holidays. I was even lucky enough to buy a box of Alphonso mangoes during their ripe season. Was expensive but usually you cannot find in the US.
Cons:
The weekends are packed. Try to shop during the week or earlier in the day. We ate at the hot bar once (mostly halal Bangladeshi dishes, savories and sweets) and it was okay, but I'd rather eat at a cheaper local Indian place. Everything was cooked well and was sanitary, but the rice was a little dry. It could also just be the time of day or dish I got.
I have never seen expired items, and I think the owners/staff (might be new? Not sure!) are working hard to make sure cans and shelving is not dirty or dusty. However I still check every bag and box out of habit. Something slightly annoying is not everything has price stickers, so you have to hunt for the one that does, or ask at the register. Prices are definitely reasonable for specialty items though as well as meat from the butcher. If you're looking for halal groceries or for foods/cooking brands from back home, this is the...
Read moreI recently visited this Foodland halal supermarket, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The store was clean, well-organized, and stocked with a wide range of high-quality halal products.
One of the standout features of this supermarket was its diverse selection of halal meats. The meat section was impressive, offering a variety of fresh, premium cuts that were clearly labeled and handled with care. It was evident that the supermarket prioritized the quality and authenticity of its halal offerings.
Not only did the supermarket cater to the dietary needs of its customers, but it also provided an extensive array of halal pantry staples, including spices, grains, canned goods, and snacks. It was a delight to explore the well-stocked aisles, with each item clearly labeled and conveniently arranged.
The staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist. They were well-informed about the halal certification process and were able to answer any questions I had. Their exceptional customer service added to the overall positive experience.
Furthermore, I appreciated the supermarket's commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. The shelves were consistently well-maintained, and I observed the staff regularly sanitizing high-touch areas. This attention to detail made me feel confident in the supermarket's dedication to providing a safe shopping environment.
In terms of pricing, I found the supermarket to be competitive with other halal stores in the area. While some specialty items were slightly higher priced, the overall value for the quality of products received was more than reasonable.
Overall, I highly recommend this halal supermarket to anyone seeking a comprehensive selection of halal products, friendly service, and a pleasant shopping environment. It truly stands out as a top-notch destination for halal groceries. I look forward to my next visit and continuing to support this exceptional...
Read more3 stars😳 why if the place is this awesome. Literally it’s a 1-pit stop. Think of an item and you will find it here. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. The hot kitchen is a wonderful part of this place where you can satisfy your craving for any you wish. THE QUESTION STILL REMAINS WHY 3 STARS THEN:- HERE IT IS WHY. Regardless of how good all these stuff sounds, one thing that pretty much stood out for me in 3 occasions were food.
