Sal's Gourmet Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Manalapan Township

Ordered a customized build your own bean salad with fried chicken (mind you it starts at 11.99$ plus tax total with tip was about 18$ Was delivered in a very small bowl container (that’s not the size of the build you're own) called to speak with the manager “SAL” explained the situation, i said you may pick up the salad, because I’m not paying almost 18$ for 10 little pieces of kidney beans & 5 little chick peas!! At least add more since I’m not getting lettuce, charge me more or less since I got no lettuce I have pictures & will figure how to post it on here) Sal continued to argue with me on the phone, was very nasty, especially knowing we’re loyal customers, I told him, please stop, I don’t want this kind of hostility with each other, he continued, was nasty & said he wanted to come see the salad. The front desk said Sal came in, ripped the bad open, opened the bowl container, brought in the “correct” bigger container that it should of came in, poured the salad in the bigger container, placed the money in the counter, & left, absolutely unprofessional coming from a business “man”!! THE PIZZA MECHANIC

I have been going to Sal's for many years now. Sal simply has the best pizza, sandwiches and salads (The tuna is out of this world) in all of Manalapan NJ. Sal and his team are always very friendly and professional, but the other day, Sal did something that simply amazed me. Just 3 blocks from Sal's, my car broke down. It was lunchtime, so I decided to walk to Sal's to clear my head, get a great meal, then call a tow truck. As soon as I entered, Sal, (the owner) looked at me and said "what's wrong". After I explained my car situation, Sal (during a very busy lunchtime I might add) said "c'mon, let's have a look". Before I could say no, Sal drove me to my car, told me to "pop the hood" then proceeded to fix my car!!!! WHO DOES THIS?!?!? This is an owner who is a class act!!! His care and consideration for his customers goes above and beyond his call of service!! Now, I'm not suggesting that Sal open up a side business, (his first class establishment speaks for itself) but the next time you are hungry for a great meal while driving your jalopy on Route 9.........

I heard great things about Sal’s Pizza so I had to give it a try. The Buffalo Chicken is delicious. Each bite you have a beautiful layer of cheese, chicken and buffalo sauce. What puts it all together is the crispy crust. The Margarita pizza was pretty good as well. Each bite you get that nice crunch from the crust with a light layer of sauce, mozzarella & fresh basil. Loved the sauce. My first experience was good. I just wished the worker gave me some feedback when I asked for a recommendation of what I should try instead of asking me what I’m in the mood to eat.
