Reef & Barrel — Restaurant in Manasquan

BEWARE: Service and food is subpar!!! I rarely write a review unless I feel it is validated and this one is. I took my wife and my 3 yr old son to try out their burgers and it was also 2 for 1 burger night. After a 45 min wait time we got sat at our table. After another 10min I had to ask the manager for a server. We waited another 45 minutes for 2 burgers and chicken fingers. The burgers left much to be desired. The manager came over and asked how everything was and when I told her politley the food was "ok. It felt like it was missing something." she gave me a blank stare and said "she had never heard that before", grabbed one of our empty plates and walked away. When they brought us our bill the server said "one burger is free(as if they comped us)." Well yes its 2 for 1 so 1 burger should be free, correct? She replied "oh did you want the manager to do something else?" We left at that point. Went there for Buy One Get One Free Burger night and have been there in the past, but this time we only ordered 2 burgers and 2 waters. We received our bill and was charged for 2 drinks we never ordered, we told the waitress she made a mistake and she told us she didnt we have to buy drinks with it to get the deal.. what?! Never had to do this in the past and if it was new why didn't she tell us that from the start? Why would I wanna pay for something I didn't get? We would have just taken the drinks if that were the case.. Not really BOGO when the drinks and extra charges pretty much equaled another burger. False Advertisement!!! I'd rather go to Marina Grille or Bar Anticipation for their deals, the burgers are way better at the other places and they really do offer Buy One Get One Free Burgers and dont try to...

We are less than impressed with restaurant. It is very loud and having a conversation without yelling is impossible. Which, as one would expect, makes it louder inside. The inside us clean and looks nice, but it's time to update the men's room. The food was very bland and unappetizing. We started with the peal & eat shrimp but I'm unsure if they are fresh or not. They were the best part of the meal though. We also had a steam pot (for two) and that too was very bland. The tastiest thing in the steam pot was the NJ Corn on the Cob! The wait staff couldn't be bothered to check on us. We had to ask for everything --- plates, butter, bread, drink refills, etc. It took over 5 minutes to refill my beer.
