It’s wonderful to be “surprised” when dining in an area you are unfamiliar with. I was in Manchester and stopped at J&G Pizza and Steak House for a quick bite. It was 2:30 pm and the place had several tables occupied and the entire time I was there it was a steady stream of folks. My server Natasha got me a water and Mr. Pibb (haven’t had one of those in FOREVER) and she highlighted the menu for me. Natasha informs me the menu may look Italian but the place is owned by folks from Greece…and many of the dishes reflect this. I saw pizzas and subs delivered to customers which looked good, so I went with a 10” pizza with sausage (they make the dough and sausage in-house) and the half-meal Greek style marinated grilled chicken with some pasta salad. The pizza was different…the crust is very thin, crispy, and baked perfectly. The cheese, sauce, and sausage went well together…this is a solid and very good pizza. The sausage is not your “standard” Italian sausage…you could tell this was a richly flavored pork sausage and it was very well prepared. I liked they had a 10” so you could do a pizza as an appetizer and order a meal too. The chicken…seriously incredible!!! I don’t know what they marinated and seasoned the chicken with but I would drive the hour down here just to enjoy the chicken again!!! The pasta salad was very good too…perfectly Al dente and the vinaigrette was not overpowering. Overall this meal was outstanding and the service from Natasha first rate…I will come here again. This place opened in the 1970’s and the décor may look like it needs updating but Natasha explained it and it made sense. All of the décor was hand cut/made to highlight the Greek heritage of the owners and the wood murals actually have meanings. Ask your server for a tour…LOL

So my husband and I happened to come across this place driving back to Chattanooga from Lynchburg after doing some whiskey tours. We were looking for non commercial pizza. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our request of booth seating was accommodated. Our server was attentive and asked if we needed time to look at the menu and took our drink orders. She returned with drinks and we were ready to place our order. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and meat lovers pizza. The mozzarella sticks came out and were very warm and melty. They were good, the sauce was okay. Our pizza came out and it appears to all be homemade, sauce and crust. It appears to be a baking soda crust, not much rise in the crust. We did not care for the pizza crust, it was not very flavorful and very thin. The amount of cheese was very nice. The bacon is actual bacon and whole strips. The Italian sausage was very flavorful, but the texture was different and very finely ground. The sauce was a bit watery for pizza and lacked some flavor. Overall it was okay. The server was attentive and made sure our drinks were refilled and checked in on us occasionally. The place was definitely busy and has a small town vibe as many people appear to know eachother.

$57 for 2 people, server was average, decor is dated and looks super cheesy, but after 45 minutes they distract you away with horrible food so it's ok. The house pizza was terrible with what looks and tastes like unflavored taco bell meat, maybe 10 peperoni slices on the whole pizza, about a cartons worth of thick sliced soggy mushrooms, I mean like every slice was a bed of mushrooms, sausage has no flavor. Shrimp pasta had shrimp so thin and tough they were like asparagus tips, the Alfredo sauce was soupy and dripping and the noodles were super overcooked and turned to mush when you ate it. Mozzarella sticks were ok but they probably came in a bag so not a culinary feat. Place had awesome food a year ago, too bad it's what it is now, we will not be back unless we here of a re open or something

Went there for the first time yesterday after church. Had my little Granddaughter with me. The food was OK, pizza was kind of small for the price. We were finishing up our food. The waitress had already brought the bill, but I hadn't signed it yet. Granddaughter had to go potty, so I left my purse, our last piece of pizza, our drinks and the unsigned bill at the table. When we came back, they had cleared the table, taking the last piece of pizza (Which we were gonna eat!), my Granddaughter's drink, and the unsigned bill. I went up to the front and told them what had happened. They said they would get my waitress and that they would have her bring another drink for my Granddaughter. Waited a few minutes and the waitress finally came back. No drink, but of course, she had my bill. She said, "I'm sorry, we thought you left". I stated that I had purposely left my PURSE at the table, so they would know we hadn't left. She gave me my bill to sign and that was it. Absolutely ZERO attempt to rectify the situation. I did not leave a tip. I will never be back. It wasn't that the loss of a piece of pizza and a drink was catastrophic, it was just the utter lack of attempt to make things right. I'm a reasonable person. If they would've offered to take a few bucks off our bill, or offered us some dessert or something, I would've been totally fine. I don't recommend dining here, and if you do, don't get up to use...
