Excellent all around! I would call it Upscale Southern Cooking.
We have had a house in the area for over 20 years and over the last few years, have seen a lot of changes. Pearl's Place is a welcomed addition to the area.
The decor is amazing. Being a big fan of the past establishment, we were curious what could be changed as the prior place was very nice itself. Well, Wow!! Excellent renovation, stunningly beautiful inside and out. We sat outside as it was a gorgeous day.
The wait staff was excellent. Our waitress was quick to answer any questions that we had and also give recommendations. Also, they were great to cater to our young daughters as well. One thing to note about sitting outside... invest in a bug zapper or something as there were a lot of gnats flying around the food and drinks. It got a bit annoying and can be easily remedied.
Now for the food.. It was great! The menu is fantastic and so many excellent choices. I had a specialty Old Fashioned to starts as a cocktail. Excellent craft cocktail that came with a cherry and a candied peach (I think?). I had Oysters Rockefeller and they were probably the best I have ever had. At first, I was unsure of what the loaf of bread was for that came with it.. Well, I figured that out for myself very quickly and will let you figure it out yourself ha! My wife had the biscuits and gravy for a beginner and that was great also! Our kids had the Mac and Cheese and Fried Shrimp with Fries. All excellent! And probably one the best Mac and Cheeses that I have had anywhere that was suitable for adults and not just dumbed down because kids are eating it. My wife and I, both being big BBQ fans, decided to order from the BBQ menu. We did Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, side of beans, grits, collard greens and yams. I cannot comment on yams as those aren't my thing but my wife said they were good. Everything was great and up to high standards. The portions were fine and we took home food. One thing to pick on since I am in the world of BBQ, they list their ribs as St. Louis style, but this is incorrect. These are full spare ribs and are not cut squared off like how St. Louis style ribs would normally be served. Its a non issue but for anyone that knows, they notice... Unfortunately we were too full to try desert.
Honestly, I cannot wait to go back. This is upscale southern cooking at its finest. Its a great addition to the area and if they keep doing as they are, they will be there for a...
Read moreI recently dined at Pearls Place and have been trying to cool down before writing this review. First off, I want to say that the food was absolutely amazing, by far the best I have had in the area. The host was kind, the restaurant was clean, and I want to emphasize that the food was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about our server, Betsy. Betsy absolutely ruined our experience here.
When she first approached our table, she immediately got touchy with me and started to flirt with me in front of my wife, which made us both incredibly uncomfortable. Every time she returned to our table, she would touch my shoulders and neck, even rubbing them at one point. I was incredibly uncomfortable, and it made my wife want to walk out of the restaurant entirely.
We also saw her go up to the hosts and tell them that she needed more tables because she wasnât making enough money and to just take them away from other servers, which was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She treated us like we were just money in her pocket and treated me like I was someone for her to try to sleep with. To make matters worse, when she finally delivered the bill, she would not leave and stood over my shoulder as I was filling out the tip to ensure we left her an adequate amount. She made the entire experience incredibly awkward.
Given her inappropriate behavior and unprofessionalism, I sincerely hope the management at Pearls Place takes immediate action and removes Betsy from her position. No customer should have to endure such discomfort.
We will never be dining in person at Pearls Place again, but we will be sure to...

If you're anywhere near Manchester, Vermont, Pearlâs Place is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, youâre greeted by a sparkling clean and beautifully maintained dining area that sets the tone for whatâs to come. The attention to detail in both the ambiance and cleanliness is a testament to the pride the staff clearly take in their work.
Now for the food â this is where Pearlâs truly shines. I ordered the brisket plate, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The brisket was tender, juicy, and perfectly smoked, with just the right amount of char and fat to melt in your mouth. The mashed potatoes with cream gravy were smooth, rich, and comforting â classic comfort food elevated to an art form. Add the fresh, bright broccolini and the beautifully roasted garlic bulb, and youâve got a plate that hits every note.
Their house sour cream came in a metal ramekin and was an excellent touch, and the rosemary sprig garnish gave a refined, aromatic finish to the whole experience.
To top it off, the water was served in a frosted turquoise bottle that felt classy and refreshing â just another small detail that proves how Pearlâs Place goes the extra mile.
Whether you're a local or just passing through southern Vermont, Pearlâs Place is the kind of spot you wish you discovered sooner. Cozy, clean, and consistently excellent, itâs a five-star experience from the first bite...
