Review form 05-16-2024 2nd visit and this time we tried the specials!
Met Ash for her daddy-daughter birthday lunch. We shared the tacos, all of them, and had a clear winner: Royal Red Shrimp Tacos!
First, lemme say, the scallops were cooked perfectly, but I found they were so fresh and sweet, the act of turning them into a taco detracted from the delicate flavor of the meat. Still, it was a delicious dish; enjoyable and yummy, sure to please any palate.
What did you say? A CRAB CAKE taco?? Oh yeah, that’s what we said, and if I had ordered only these, I’d be raving about them…but I got them with Royal Red offering and - despite being chin-dribble worthy - the shrimp taco just knocked it out of the park.
The crab was fresh, the seasonings perfect, and the taco ate like it was really well thought out. Highly recommend - Petunia gobbled hers down with a smile between chipmunk cheeks of love.
Ah, the Royal Reds. Mmm. Mmmmmm. MMMMM!
The shrimp were seasoned amd sautéed, just perfectly, and laid across the taco, expertly accompanied by an incredible array of flavors. First bite was hot and juicy and the flavors exploded out of the tortilla like they were late for a train…they were so good I had to stop eating to make sure I wasn’t dreaming (I wasn’t).
The boudin balls were good, and the creamy sauce really elevated the dish, but I’m still giving the award to that crispy Brussels Sprouts dish from last visit. I still recommend them, though: Petunia had one and - just like magic - they’re gone and we got no complaints.
The staff is super friendly, be prepared to be made to feel at home!
Review from 04-27-2024 Finally got to try Parish Tacos! I had the Birria, Petunia was all over the Al Pastor, but the star of the table was the Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer. Imagine perfectly crisped sprouts, tossed in a mixture of spices and cheeses as if it were street corn - we’ve agreed we are splitting tacos next time so we can share another huge bowl of this incredible dish! The tacos were almost TOO stuffed! So much delicious food on one table. The birria is tasty, although I will ask for extra lime next time. The crispy cheese layer added an extra dimension to this dish. The al pastor was very well done; tons of flavor and cooked perfectly. Either was a good choice… …but Michael came out to talk to us. We’re excited for PT and can’t wait to comeback in yo try the specials. Today was a seared scallop or a fried oyster taco…the victuals definitely make me wish I had an extra stomach. Already planning my next visit, but don’t let that stop you from giving this...
Read moreSomeone needs to tell Guy Fieri about this place! It definitely deserves to be on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! I was looking for a quick small lunch and saw the reviews for the tacos here. Wasn't what I expected but so much more! These are Gourmet tacos my friends. If this place was in NYC or San Diego, it would have a line out the door! Their selection of tacos is great with some very unique combinations. We got the seared ahi tacos and Chile relleno tacos. The seared ahi tacos were delicious with an Asian sauce over generous slices of ahi. However, the chili relleno tacos were my favorite. Grilled poblano peppers stuffed with cheese and chorizo. Omg good! I wish I lived closer so I could try out all the other flavors: bang bang shrimp, pork belly, brisket, fried oyster, crab cake and more. They use small street tortillas but fill them up. It's not cheap but the food is high quality. You get 2 tacos of the same type per plate and they run $9-16/plate. The only thing is I wish were different, was if you could mix and match and get 2 different type tacos on your plate. The food is fresh and cooked to order. No frozen or processed food here. This was a great find and will be my go to place whenever I'm in the neighborhood. The inside is not fancy and looks like your average taco shop but this place is way better than average. The people working there were also super nice and friendly. You don't always see that nowadays and it made a good meal even more enjoyable. All I...
Read moreSeptember 2025: 4 star - typically this is our go to but I’m not sure if there was a staffing issue or staff turnover over as we only recognized one person from several previous visits. Service was ok not over the top as usual. Food was just ok - if it wasn’t for previous visits likely wouldn’t return in future due to prices. Don’t get beef tacos unless you want a spaghetti tasting taco, not what I was expecting should have been labeled Italian beef. Shrimp still had shells - big turn off drop of a star, some normal toppings missing (pork belly) and other topics not as crisp / fresh as normally get here.
April 2025: 5 stars This place is an absolute gem! If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful, and creative tacos, look no further. Every bite bursts with bold, mouthwatering flavors — the kind that leave you already planning your next visit. The grilled shrimp tacos are a must-try, the Korean beef is packed with savory goodness, and the pork belly taco? Out of this world. The pico de gallo was spot on, adding the perfect fresh kick to every taco.
The restaurant has a charming, laid-back vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. April 2025: Service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. They’ve really elevated the taco game with a Louisiana twist, and it shows in every detail. Prices are very reasonable at about $6 a taco for this quality. Highly recommend! Only complaint was margaritas on the menu but were not available...
