Sticks BBQ - Hwy 22 — Restaurant in Mandeville

Our family dinner was definitely not how we planned. There was a change of plans and we decided to give this bbq spot a try. What a disappointment! This place is filthy (especially the restroom), and the food is poor in quality (not fresh at all). I was in the mood for smoked chicken so I ordered half chicken with beans and potato salad. The chicken was severely dehydrated, cold and bland. The beans were extremely sweet and the potatoes barely had any salt. My husband and son ordered the pulled pork (dry/burnt) with beans, fries and potato salad. In the 10 years that I have been married to my husband he has never left a piece of pulled pork nor his bbq beans. Well he left more than half of his food. My son was starving after a game so he ate the pork and fries but also left the beans which is unusual for him. My husband felt annoyed after seeing my dissatisfaction from almost choking on the chicken. He decided to bring his concern to the employee taking orders. That didn’t resolve anything whatsoever the employee claimed he couldn’t change my chicken for anything else unless we paid extra. He also stated that the rest of the chicken was just as dry as the one I was served. At this point I lost all respect for this spot because all he cared about was money and not my dissatisfaction with the food. We will never bring our hard earned money to this business. I understand why they weren’t booming like other bbq spots. Customer service needs drastic improvement. If you care about food quality stay away from this place. Dickeys is 10x better! Overall the food has good flavor. I've ate here a few times now. But I do have a bone to pick and I mean that in a literal sense. I ordered a rib sandwich and the picture on the menu show this shredded rib on a golden toasted Texas Toast. What I got, a half rack still on the bone ribs on a barely toasted Texas Toast. Definitely not how it looks in the menu, and I mean not even close. It looked like a good intention dinner from a 5-year-old. After I pulled the meat off the bones and added some sauce, the sandwich tasted good. I won't hold the dryness of the ribs against them, it was fairly late in the evening and most places smoke their ribs early in the morning. I'm surprised they had any ribs left. Another reason for the 3-star, this is not very kid-friendly. Their Mac and cheese is delicious, but my children and even myself find the Mac and cheese spicy. I like spicy food, my children not so much. Overall I'd eat there again, but I'm not ordering the rib...

I’m going to preface this by saying we normally LOVE sticks. It used to be the best bbq we had and we were in several times a month. But the last couple times we have been it’s been SO disappointing. I’m hoping this review just helps them pinpoint what’s changed so it can go back. We ordered to go on Thursday afternoon and got 2 plates of sliced brisket, Mac, and fries. The brisket was THIN, dry, and we each only had 2 and a half pieces. It was terrible. Our fries were cold and stale like they had been out for a long time. And lastly the mac. We had 2 COMPLETELY different looking mac and cheese bowels (see pic) and one was mostly runny flavorless cheese with a little noddle and the other was completely solid, oily, and gross. We were left almost 40$ in the hole with inedible food and hungry. Was very upsetting. We loved sticks so we will return eventually and hopefully it will be back to normal but if not it’ll sadly be time to find a...
