I feel bad leaving a less than perfect review, but tonight’s meal was pretty horrible. I’ll start off with the good part, the white and brown rice were both normal and good. Also - for some reason they gave us a free Thai tea, that was good too - but that’s where it ends. The beef satay was not edible. The beef was so tough, so chewy and hard, we both took a few bites, but it was so tough and chewy we had to (pardon us) … let’s just say we couldn’t swallow the beef. Next - we had Pad See Ew with beef - I have to rename the item “Pad See Ewwwwww” - once again, the same type of beef, so chewy we had to …. again, not able to chew or swallow the beef. I imagine they are using the cheapest low quality beef they could find. Seasoning and flavor and noodles delicious, but if you can’t swallow the meat - pretty much ruined our meal. We have eaten there MANY times and have always loved it, I wonder if new ownership or a new chef??? Whatever it is, PLEASE - for us loyal locals - PLEASE use high quality tender and tasty beef - we pretty much threw most of our food away - $87.50 in the trash can. Next - the egg rolls. Once again - never had an egg roll so bad - the inside was filled with a “goo”, no veggies or fresh stuff, it was like a weird creamy paste - or just mystery goo as filling??? I imagine cheap frozen from a vendor ? - not house made? Not good at all! Again, ewwww. Papaya salad - we asked for mild, it was pretty spicy - another item we tossed, just not good. No delicious flavor and the added shrimp were super soggy and bland. On to the cucumber salad - one of my normal favorites, just tasted really weird, maybe old and rotten? Steamed veggies, ok … tasted like steamed vegetables should. Not sure what to say other than we eat there a lot and it’s always been good - I’m sad, bummed and very hungry! I hope the owner, chef, manager reads this - we live around the corner - we should be leaving a raving great review - but can’t - we tossed almost the whole meal - pretty much inedible. *Again - customers deserve quality tender beef, not chewy bad meat, and egg rolls - not sure what is in them - but we’ve had thousands of egg rolls - these though, never again unless they make them fresh and delicious - not mystery “ewwww goo”. I ask the chef, owner, manager to eat the beef and egg rolls and let me know what you think!? I wish the best for the restaurant - locals love Thai food … I hope some significant...
Read moreWow this place is so good! We had it after surfing one day on a whim and it was the best Thai food we’ve ever had! The pad Thai is perfect and tastes very fresh and whatever noodles they use are the best noodles I’ve ever had as their texture was so nice and they weren’t too wet. I love that they gave me the option to add spice myself with three different chili options. We also tried the panang curry with chicken and you can smell how flavorful it is before you even try it. So, so good! Both dishes tasted fresh — we cleared our plates and came back this weekend to have the same meal again because it was THAT good! Also, the Thai iced tea is delicious and they give you the coconut milk on the side so you can add as much as you want. Super nice, friendly owners. Worth driving out of your way to come here. Nawa Thai will definitely be a go to for Thai food whenever I’m...
Read moreI was able to find this small gem through Google search. It was our first stop after flying into LAX for a football game. It was only a few minutes from the airport. The lady that greeted us was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. We were the only guests there midday on a Wednesday. The restaurant was cozy, well - decorated, and very clean. We ordered chicken pad Thai, seafood pad Thai(fish, shrimp, squid, mussels), and the shrimp donuts. Everything was very good. There is a 2 hr parking lot immediately across the street that we noticed after we found...
