Vista Drive In — Restaurant in Manhattan

Went here when I first moved here about 2 years ago on my way out of town and was not impressed due to lack of salt on everything( no joke if you order it how it is on the menu I'm pretty sure they don't salt anything at all), flavor, and poor customer service and never went back until tonight (7/12/2020).

Decided to try again tonight when i could take it home and add salt and it was fantastic. The burger had fresh tasty ingredients and a perfect crust on the meat, the fries were hot and crispy, and the mozz sticks were perfect. It just needed a little bit of salt to make it great. The customer service was also MUCH better on this visit despite the fact that we went 30 minutes to close. I imagine the reason for the lack of salt is that the main clientele of this establishment needs to watch their sodium intake so it's hard to fault vista for their decision to abstain from salt. No idea if you can ask them to salt the stuff at the restaurant, but if you cannot Idefinitely take it home and salt it and you wont regret it.

Will for sure be back now, as this latest visit redeemed them in my eyes. If you had a bad first experience here, I definitely recommend grabbing a salt shaker and giving them...

So I love to eat here whenever I'm in town. The food is always consistently good. But today the young man that waited on me was just rude and acted like he had a problem with me because he asked me if I wanted to dine in or out. First I said dine in and quickly realized I didn't have as much time as I thought I had. So I said I'm sorry change that to go, but he had evidently already entered it for dine in. He got frustrated and showed his irritation to me and started to lay his head down on the counter. So I said hey, no worries, leave it for dine in. I can still just take it with me. Because I didn't want to be the cause of his frustration. But he looked back up at me with a very nasty look of disgust and frustration on his face. So I told him you look like you have a problem, I told you to leave it as dine in. It's not that big of a deal. He said in a negative tone, I dont have a problem. So I said we'll DONT have one with me. Out of my own irritation at the situation. So, I love going here and have never experienced this type of service before. But I post this so hopefully the owner will be aware and coach this young man...

1st customer service, very lacking. Not busy & literally had to yell to the cook for our order to be taken. Then a young lady finally came to the counter, totally annoyed. Got drink cups that were bent to hell n back. I dought them would hold any liquid. For the 2nd time, we had to yell for something/new cups since she quite literally took our order & walked off. New to the area , we didn't know if they brought it out to us or if we was to go back n pick it up when ready.. very odd. Most importantly this is a hamburger & fry establishment. How in the world it can be extremely discussing is beyond me. Burger King is an upgrade from this place.. fries hard as a rock & cooked in old oil. Asked about fresh fries just to be told oh we can't do that because your order was cooked fresh to order. Total bs.. hamburger was dry as hell & absolutely no seasoning. Was also denied salt & pepper because they don't have it. Super weird. I literally only ate 1 bite of my burger & 2 French fries. Absolutely gross 🤢🤮.. Definitely will not be back, but I will spead the word on how nasty it is along with the fact that the manager on duty didn't...
