Because I have been there many times, and will go back, I will be honest. Last night I was severely disappointed. I ordered the risotto, what arrived was a pile of sticky bland rice with veggies and some cheese. It was not creamy, as risotto should be. It did not allow gravity to spread it around the plate. Well, the chef was walking the floor, very pleased to see this, as it is rare. I commented on my disappointment, and he said he would try to fix it. When it was returned, it was the same original plate, with some added low-fat milk. Everyone at my table tasted my dish, to confirm it was not just me. It was so tasteless. It too was returned for the pasta plate. That came to the table literally swimming in a pool of oil, I was tired of complaining, hate coming across as a jackass, so I took it home to drain it. I will order the pizza from now on. Please do not call that dish risotto, it is a rice dish. And less oil in the pasta. One of the patrons at our table is a works in another local restaurant and was shocked at how it was handled.
We have returned, my wife and family agree the restaurant is not the same it was two years ago, here is hoping it will return to that standard at some point in the near future. Would give it...
Read moreI feel like I was taken advantage of when I received my check at the end of the meal. They are charging a "PPE" fee that we were never told about nor was it posted on any signs or on their website. First, no other restaurant is charging this fee during COVID and I wouldn't expect to have to pay such fee... The waitress told me that is was to cover the cost of the gloves, cleaning supplies, and masks for the employees. They should already be buying cleaning supplies and gloves pre COVID for the staff. So the only real extra cost to them are the masks which almost all the servers had there own cloth ones on anyway. So tell me how this makes sense, you charge $2 per person at your table for "PPE" but the owner of the restaurant can walk around with no mask and talk to each table. It comes down to the principal of things. Don't charge me an extra $8 to eat at your restaurant for "PPE" your are not even using... Let's say they get an average of 50 customers a night; that's an extra $100/DAY they are profiting for what.. a bunch of masks that they are not even using that probably cost $20 for a hundred pack.. Next time, don't be so sneaky and just tell me your going to charge me a fee for...
Read more14 Golf Buddies played the Crossgates Golf Course on Sunday 5/21/2023. After the round, we gathered for some food and drinks only to be told that we could only have 1 check! When I asked why, the blonde bartender coming on shift copped an attitude saying "Its our policy and it's published on our website". How are we supposed to keep track of what 13 other people ate or drank? Not sure of the exact amount but you just lost our on at least $420+ in food and drink revenue. There were about 4 people at the bar and 1 table of 4 seated. Its not like there wasn't any staff available. I had gotten a beer when we first came in at the bar; when I went back to get another and close my check, I was told I had to order from the server, who was standing right next to the bartender, at the bar! The bartender handed the server the check, who handed it to me, i handed her the $, she handed it the bartender, who made change, handed it to the server, who handed it to me. Quite literally the dumbest exchange I have ever witnessed. I doubt this course will be on the clubs list next year. Poorly run and...
