Update: Since the following review was written, this restaurant has moved south, to a location farther south on US-89.
Matteo's Artisan Pizza is really something special. Located where two or three pizza shops have existed over the past several years, this time it's a family business which deserves as many customers as possible!
The chef who makes and cooks the pizzas is fast, friendly, and listens to rather nice music in the kitchen area at a pleasant volume while he makes these pizzas by hand and cooks them! Sounds of slicing and dicing and other common kitchen noises can be heard during preparation.
The handmade dough, too tasty to leave behind in the box or on a plate, is amazing in comparison to other nearby pizzerias!
The fresh sauce, toppings, seasoning, and delicious cheese leave nothing to be desired. The pizzas may seem greasy, likely a result of fresh ingredients and immediate removal from the oven and hand-off to the customer. The pizzas sometimes have toppings artistically placed on the slices (I wish I'd taken a picture!) or evenly distributed across the pizza(s). I've seen no evidence of hasty slicing. It's always done with care.
Before I found Matteo's Artisan Pizza, I had a habit of asking for extra sauce on pizza and used plenty of additional spices and parmesan afterward. That's not required here! My orders have been perfect every time and seem to finish faster than other local "fresh" or "to order" pizza shops.
Finally, the pizzas are more filling and satisfying than from places where you always seem to need another slice. I really appreciate that!

Read moreThis is the best pizza I've had in Utah, no contest. When I was looking to get pizza here, I was a little worried because I hadn't heard of the place, but I'm so happy I chose to eat here. I'll never have pizza anywhere else ever again.
I'll give you the rundown so when you order you'll know what to do.
First, call in to order the pizza. The pizza will take 30 minutes or so to make. You can use the website to see which pizzas to order. I went in-person to order and this was less convenient, just make the phone call if you can so you don't have to wait.
Second, the restaurant is located on the backside of the red barn insurance building. There are no signs that I saw so it was hard to find initially. There is a concrete path starting on the southwest side of the building and heads north. If you follow the path, you'll find a white double door you can open that will take you into the kitchen where you can pick up and pay (at least that is what I did in my case).
Third, enjoy some wonderful pizza that is made by a wonderful family. Seriously, this is the best pizza in Utah. I'll never go to any other pizza place because this is too good.
Never thought I'd be writing a review for this place but the pizza was so good that I had to. Go there and it'll change your...
Read moreThe photo does not do this pizza justice because we had to pull over and find a place to eat it. We drove from Lehi because we read the reviews and they are right! I took one bite and had to find a place to pull over because I didn't want to wait. The owner and his wife are nice people and you can tell this is an art to them. This is as good as the pizza in NY that I fell in love with many years ago. The problem with eating NY pizza is that you compare every pizza to that afterwards and nothing in Utah has come close till I found this Pizza place. Order it on line because this is only take out pizza. I love supporting local places, that use fresh ingredients and sauce. The crust has that chew of a NY pie and the sauce is perfect, not overpowering. I am now home in Lehi and wish I had ordered...
