Haven't been there in a while because of construction on the Ina overpass. Had French toast slam with bacon, sausage links, eggs over easy. Wife had biscuits and gravy with hash browns and scrambled eggs. Grandaughter had mac and cheese with a side of fresh grapes. The first problem is we had all food within 5 or 6 minutes of ordering. Sausage was luke warm like it was premade and same with the bacon... made sometime earlier and not prepared to order. French toast was still with raw batter in places... but I didn't see this until the skislope of powdered sugar had dissipated. A hot grill would really help this. But hey the eggs were right and made to order. Wife's b&g was hot and appetizing. Scrambled eggs were hot and well presented. Hash browns though were "browned" earlier in the day and held to be served when busy, definitely not prepared to order. Grandaughter's mac and cheese was a dipped item so who knows when it was made and barely warm... but 5 year olds don't really care. She said it was good and ate it all. The grapes she said did not taste good and she didn't eat them. I tasted a couple of them and they were OK. This was not a busy restaurant on Thursday, July 5, one carryout order other than our table, so I can't understand the need to short cut with precooking and then holding sausage and bacon and then its not even luke warm when served. No excuse for raw batter on French toast....training people to do it the right way, more training, and then followup on them. I really don't care if I'm the only person in the building or if they're lined up out the door, fix the food to order and if running the wheel ain't your thing then find another job because ultimately the way the cooks and management here are handling things is going to make somebody sick if it hasn't already. I didn't bother with complaining to the waitress because her ability to fix this was limited to "I could let you speak to a manager" or even better "I'll have the cook redo this." We ate what was edible and felt safe to eat and went home for dinner. However, the waitress service, followup and customer rapport were excellent and we tipped HER well. It'll be a while until our next visit here and when we do believe me I will request food be made to order and if they can't do it...
Read moreI recently visited Denny's and was profoundly disappointed by the experience, which fell far short of what I am use to from this location. The most glaring issue was the undercooked (raw) pancakes that were served to us, a basic expectation in any diner that was not met. More concerning, however, was the glaring oversight of several items from our order, most notably the complete absence of my daughter's meal.
What struck me was the remarkable job our waiter did in recording our order. With a party of five, we were conscious to have him repeat our order for accuracy, which he did flawlessly. The breakdown, it appears, occurred in the kitchen, where our order was not only neglected but seemingly disregarded. This incident points to a deeper issue within the resturant—a noncaring attitude amongst the staff, showed that this is normal for them.
The lack of attention to basic detail and team spirit was highly noticeable, hinting at poor leadership and management. It was as if the manager had adopted an attitude of indifference towards the team's performance, and this mindset seemed to have trickled down to every staff member, creating an unprofessional and unwelcoming atmosphere. Previously, I have enjoyed dining at this Denny's, but this visit has left a sour taste. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in quality and service. As a customer, it's not just about the food; it's about the entire dining experience, which, in this case, was severely lacking.
My intention in writing this review is twofold: to inform potential customers of the current state of this Denny's, and more importantly, to hopefully catch the attention of the business owner or the management. It is crucial that they understand the gravity of these issues as experienced by their customers. There is a clear need for an overhaul in staff training, leadership, and customer service standards. It's a shame to see a once-loved establishment falter like this. I sincerely hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for...
Read moreAnyone who has visted a Denny's often, all know how just the basics look and taste. We have traveled all over the country, and have yet to find a Denny's that disappointed, until this vist; I ordered a basic biscuit and white sausage gravy with scrambled eggs and hash browns. My plate arrived with a pink concoction over the biscuit, minus the sausage. At first, I was a little confused, but I gave it a small taste. It was a bit of a spicy flavor, and didn't taste like any gravy I had tasted before. I then asked our waitress to come back and asked her what exactly I was being served, as this wasn't a white, sausage gravy. She replied, "someone at corporate changed the recipe without telling us, but it is gravy." My husband checked the menu, and there was no description of a new gravy, it listed a "white, sausage gravy." I didn't like it at all. The waitress then had the manager come over. She apologized for the new gravy, and said the same thing about corporate changing the recipe. She did offer to take it back and replace it with something else. My entire plate was taken away and when my new plate came, my husband had all but finished eating his burger and fries. I just asked for pancakes to replace the biscuit and gravy. The waitress brought me pancakes, along with fresh scrambled eggs, and hash browns. My appetite was a bit spoiled from the "pink gravy," but at least the waitress and manager did replace my unappealing and unappetizing plate of food. There were very few patrons inside, and it was in the early evening hours, so the wait was a bit longer than it should've been for something as simple as pancakes, scrambled eggs, and hashbrowns. The waitress was extremely nice, as was the manager. The place was clean, and the food was good, minus the gravy. If you're going to change a well known menu item, such as white sausage gravy, note it on the menu. If the description says sausage, make sure it...
