Between the Ina exit shutdown and COVID , I still went here to help local small business. However, after today I will no longer go here. Its no longer about the donuts, it' about the cost and common sense. I ordered a dozen donuts ($11.50.. I believe) and a bag of donut holes ($2.49).. I got 8 regular donuts and 4 bars. The lady behind the counter said "the bars will make it cost more". I said thats fine, thinking my dozen will be a like $13 or so... my bill came to $22.18!!!! I asked how did my bill get to $22.18... she said the bars are .75 cents each.. so she charged for half a dozen ($8.50) and 6 donuts including the bars individually. I am sitting there scratching my head because the math still doesn't add up. $8.50 for half a dozen, $3 for 4 bars equals $11.50.. $2.50 for donut holes.. equals $14.00!!! I am still missing 2 regular donuts, so are they $4.00 each? This still doesn't make sense. They tried to explain it and none of their confusing explanation made sense.. they said remove 1 bar.. it changes the price... then it was remove three bars... so I had to remove all my bars. Now I have 1 dozen regular donuts and the donut holes.. my bill came to $14.92. Well.. little did I know that she didn't include the donut holes!!! Now this really makes no sense.. so I overpaid because of the bars somehow.. which basically in their mind offset the donut holes and she wanted me to pay another .50!!! But I had no bars now. At that point she saw how mad and disgusted we were, and didn't ask us to charge our card for .50!! Sadly, this was for a little girls Birthday, to surprise her with a single donut with sprinkles before school, I decided to buy more to support the local business. Due to the ridiculousness of price gouging and confusing your customers, I can't support that and won't go back. Also, when we left, another lady who was helped next to us said they ripped her off also. She got 2 donuts and a Croissant and couldn't understand how she paid so much. I didn't get the details, but we aren't the only ones they're doing this to. I just caught it before I paid $22 dollars for a dozen donuts and some holes....they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit to this donut shop. While my group and I were in the middle of deciding what to order, the employee working at the counterāa white maleāasked if he could take a phone call. We politely said yes.
Shortly after, I requested a specific apple donut, only to be told that the caller on the phone had just ordered the last two. This was incredibly frustrating. We were present, ready to order, and yet our request was ignored in favor of someone who wasnāt even in the store. The fact that he fulfilled a phone order without first checking with the customers physically standing in front of him shows a clear lack of professionalism and competence.
His actions reflected poor judgment, weak customer service skills, and a failure to properly prioritize in-person guests. Itās deeply concerning that someone who cannot manage such basic responsibilities is left in charge of the counter. In-person customers should be prioritized, especially when actively placing an order.
This incident left a negative impression and suggests that this employee is not equipped to handle his role effectively. I strongly urge management to address this and ensure proper training is provided to avoid further customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've bought donuts of most every type here for many years and have never been disappointed. My big fear was when the construction of the Ina Road bridge was in work that they'd close shop like so many other nearby places and never be seen or heard from again. Thankfully they persevered and stayed open the entire (!!) time, God Bless them! They may have been inconvenient to reach due to the construction but the PITA was worth it IMHO. But if there was anything I have to gripe about is the fact that they tend to run out of most donuts by mid morning and absolutely REFUSE to bake any more until the following day!! That is NOT a customer friendly way to be IMO, but what can you do? One would think they'd have a second, lesser amount of donuts made for the afternoon crowd, since not everyone works mornings or might like to have a donut with their first cup of coffee in the morning. Regardless, I'll still continue to do business with the Donut Wheel, even if I have to put in a reservation for donuts the night before. But is SURE DO WISH they'd cook a second (smaller) variety batch for the afternoon...
