DINERS BEWARE!!! I have never taken the time to do a review on anything but after my experience w/this establishment here I go. My family of four ate there aug 7th. Food was mediocre—but that’s just an opinion however what transpired after we left is relevant. We paid $56 for dinner however when we returned home ( we got married in Marathon at a resort ) we discovered an additional $236 charged unauthorized to our card. I contacted the owner ( Marvin ) who informed me or rather accused me of stealing two bottles of wine from there. My jaw dropped. That’s why he charged my wife’s card additionally. I explained to Marvin that as we were leaving his restaurant ( after eating & paying our $56 bill ) that our waitress stopped us midway to the exit & told us not to forget our wine bottles ( there are 2 bottles of wine unopened at each table already ) My wife said those r not ours ( we do not drink ) the waitress said they are complimentary & if we did not take them then she would take it home for herself. Then she handed them to my wife & daughter. In the car I told my wife that this must be very cheap wine if they are free ( how ironic ). After I explained this to Marvin he said he didn’t want to get us in trouble so just let the $236 charge stand. I said no way we don’t even drink & we left them at the hotel & didn’t even bring them home. We decided to accept them becuz we were told they were free...who wouldn’t accept something free? I said I was challenging this w/our credit card co. At this point he said he has cameras & would use them to prosecute me. I said pls go ahead ...in fact I told him I would contact Marathon police to report this. He said that I would not win because he had it on camera. The only thing he has on camera is the waitress stopping my wife to hand her the 2 bottles of wine as I have already stated. We signed our bill by the same waitress for the items we ate. No where on the receipt ( which we still have ) is any bottles of wine. He charged our credit card the following day for $236 w/o any authorization. He did not try to contact us or call our credit card co. This I was told by our credit card co is fraud. A sheriff went to his establishment after I notified them & saw the tape & because there was no audio he couldn’t do much. This owner will bill u for items u didn’t even order & hold u to that bill or accuse u of theft. Lord knows how many people don’t check their credit card statements to see additional fraudulent charges. We are disputing w/our credit card co currently & consulting my good friend who is an attorney to follow up on this. The $ is no longer what matters but to stop this establishment from robbing unsuspecting vacationers who just wanted a meal. If the owner truly studied the recordings then he would see that our story holds up. Who at the last min while walking out would tell the waitress that they wanted the bottles of wine & just bill my card w/o signing the bill? This guy is greedy & has no trouble basically stealing your $ for his profit....
Read moreWe didn’t have a great experience I’m going to be honest. The 4 stars were deceiving. Our waitress was in sweatpants, along with another waitress in baggy sweatpants and an oversized Rick and Morty shirt as if she just rolled out of bed. The menu was overwhelming and poorly organized. The high prices did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and very quiet. She also struggled to answer a few questions we had on the menu.
The local band that was playing, the “Tiki Seekers”, were awkward and cringy. They were nice and kept the atmosphere friendly, but were an odd choice of entertainment. They were singing old country and bluegrass in a seafood/Italian establishment.
The salads were pitiful. We also didn’t receive enough silverware from the beginning. My plate barely had any while others had more of a portion. We also never got a choice of dressing. We only got ranch. Once we got our food, the experience kept getting worse.
I ordered the stuffed shells, and they weren’t the worst Ive ever had but they weren’t great by any means. I got 3 shells in total, and the pasta wasn’t quite done. They were just okay. My mom ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, got a small hair in her food, and was surprised to discover chopped onions all through her pasta. Absolutely disgusting. Her drink glass also had a crack on the side.
My brother ordered the lasagna and it was more sauce than anything. The waitress also never refilled our water and simply disappeared after we finally got our food.
Another waitress kept giving me sarcastic looks. This whole place was sketchy and made us all uncomfortable.
Overall, Nothing was well seasoned. It was just bland. Service sucked. Band was weird. And for my family of four, we paid $102 dollars for pure garbage. Plus we had to tip our lame waitress. Overall a terrible experience. This establishment is a joke. Don’t go here unless you want to laugh and maybe get food poisoning. The 4 stars are FAKE. This place...
Read moreIn a follow up to "DINERS BEWARE" Google does not allow me to rate this any less, which sucks cause I'd rate this a 0. I cannot even believe the trouble this restaurant has caused. This was supposed to be a happy family vacation as my parents were getting married. Only a few days ago, we received a bank statement of nearly $300 dollars charged to my mother's account. My recollection of the food at this place was not good. The food made me sick and was overpriced for the quality, but that's not what I'm on this website for. After our meal, my mother and I were walking out behind my dad and sister. The waitress we had stopped us before my mom and I left and we met halfway between the exit and our table. She asked us if we "did not want our bubbly." We looked at her confused. She walked over to our table as we stood there and brought over a bottle of champagne and wine, asking us if we wanted it or else she would take it for herself. Together, my mother and I asked "free?" still confused. The waitress said "yes" to us and assured us it was free. My mom accepted the bottles that the waitress handed to her and we exited the restaurant. As my mom and I got into the car, we all conversed about what "cheap" alcohol this must've been because it was complimentary. It's humiliating to be told that we would be considered "thieves." I've grown up taught not to steal, lie or decieve. I can tell you with my hand on the Bible that this is exactly what happened and what the owner is claiming is NOT what transpired as I was present when this happened. I'm here to let readers know that these things happen when buyers are unsuspecting and spending money while vacationing. Triton Seafood Restaurant is one of these places who will gracefully take advantage of innocent customers. All I want to do is inform and hopefully your judgement will...
