Gem of an establishment in the small quiet town of Marengo. Too many nay-sayers on social media. Ignore those people and go visit and form your own opinion. Our table attendant Marlen couldn’t have been better. She is very knowledgeable about the food items and was able to adjust each persons dish to their liking. Their wine choices are very good and were given samples to try her suggestion before ordering a bottle. On street parking is tight. I would recommend paring in the city lot behind the building and follow the winding sidewalk to the back door. The portions are large and I took 1/2 home. The walk back the car was needed. Go support this place. I know I’ll be back! 11/2/2024 Back again! 2nd time here and this time we brought some friends along. As before the establishment did not disappoint. All 6 of us ended up taking 1/2 our meal home to enjoy the tasty delights another day. Our server and the staff made our visit feel like we are longtime regulars. As luck would have it, Marlen was our server again. I do enjoy having her as our server. We stopped for a night near Marengo on a cross-country RV trip, and were in the mood for Italian, so - decided to have dinner at Abbondanza Cucina. It was a great meal for sure, from the Scallops special on the appetizer menu, to the staple Salmon and Veal Saltimbocca mains we had. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the balance of veal, prosciutto, and cheese, as well as the seasonings on the Saltimbocca were just like mom used to make. My compliments to the chef!

For dessert, we chose the chocolate mousse cake and carrot cake, and it was the perfect ending. The carrot cake portion was huge – double what you normally get, practically wedding cake height, 3” thick, and a rich combination of ingredients, topped with a nicely sweetened cream cheese frosting. Our server was also the pastry chef, and I believe related to the chef and owner. I complimented her on the cake, and when I happened to mention it was my birthday that night, she immediately offered to give us a tiramisu on the house, which I could not refuse.
