About every 3 months I get a craving for Captain D's. I generally try to shy away from fast food. But when I want a piece of fried fish, I end up at Captain D's. It hasn't changed in 50 years. I know I'm going to get a piece of fried fish that's not over battered. Some really good restaurants still don't know how to batter and fry fish. This location on Cobb Pkwy is new. It's clean and the service is spot on. When I got to the pick up window I saw their health score. It was 100. The food tasted clean and the plate looked good. So don't be afraid to go visit the Captain. I'm willing to bet it's as good or better than the Fish & Chips you're going to find on the Marietta square. For...
Read moreThis was my very 1st time ever at Captain D's. It was pretty good for the most part. I tried the fish sandwich with fries and a side of mozzarella sticks. The fish sandwich was good. I just wasn't fond of the two strips of fish. The sandwich falls apart in a few bites because the fish isn't whole, it's two skinny strips. The fries were kinda cold and soggy, wish they were crispy. The mozzarella sticks were very good. It would be good if they had a dedicated fryer for the fries and mozzarella sticks so they don't taste like fish. Overall it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't come back anytime soon, just because I'm not a big fast food person. I just like a good fish...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews for fast food restaurants, but one is warranted here. I’ve eaten at Captain D’s restaurants going back to the 70s and witnessed their decline in many ways, But at this location, they get it all right. Food is always made to order and is very good. I don’t eat tilapia, but currently they have fried flounder, which is hand breaded, and delicious. Breadsticks and broccoli we’re both very good as well. Sweet tea was fresh and sweet with a real tea flavor unlike the sugar water you get at a lot of restaurants. The restaurant is so clean you could practically eat off the floor. Keep up...
