Has become a ripoff. Food may be fairly fresh but they no longer use customary expected ingredients in the food so⦠my son-in-law and I ordered house fried rice and we got rice, that had a minimal amount of soy, was tossed in a hot wok to heat it up, a few dried reconstituted peas a few flecks of chopped onion a few shreds of chicken a few tiny over cooked mini pieces of diced dry pork I got four tiny shrimp and my son-in-law received three. No taste and certainly NOT fried⦠wife ordered Mushu pork⦠mostly cabbage some shreds of pork almost no gravy so it was dry, half a small ramekin of plum sauce from a jar and a few premade wrappers.. terrible and almost completely unseasoned. Finally my daughter ordered Mongolian beef.. came without rice noodles and was almost devoid of beef.. flavor was sickly sweet and not in line with what anyone would expect. Egg rolls had DOUBLE WRAPPERS to make it seem thicker and very little filling which consisted almost entirely of just cabbage. Great Wall used to be so good for many years. The current woman who owns it improved service and made it consistent several years ago but has steadily cheapened the food by removing ingredients and seasonings until now the food is bland and lacking almost any fresh vegetable or meats or seasonings. The hot sour soup was OBVIOUSLY WATERED DOWN tasteless and seriously lacking ingredients or texture.. it was awful. This is now a complete ripoff. We paid $62 dollars and I even gave the owner a $5 tip (this was a pickup order at the counter)⦠what received was fresh and hot but consisted almost entirely of the absolute cheapest components of the basic recipes for these dishes namely rice and wrappers and of course⦠water. Weāve paid this restaurant many thousands of dollars for their food over many years. The owner lives close to us. She seems nice. But she is obviously on a mission to serves as close to nothing as she can and charge more than her competitors in east cobb. She is doing it but my family and I are done and will not give our money for this ever again. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been our Chinese Delivery option for almost four years now, and we still see a long happy future with them for many more years to come.
There are multiple other similar options in the area, but this one truely shines above the others for quite a few reasons.
The most important reason is that it's far less greasy in comparison to the competition. It's usually a 50/50 chance that a regular chinese delivery will be a greasy gut-bomb. However, here I am always pleased with the results. Whether I am ordering their green curry or the sesame chicken, it is always a delight for the taste buds.
Almost as important is the fact that they have never gotten our order wrong in the many, many years of their ordered deliveries. The usual two delivery drivers are also super nice and polite, which is a pleasant experience.
My only complaint, and this is being nit-picky... Is occasionally you might end up giving your ordering information to a 12 year old or a very, very impatient lady. Both were professional, and my orders came out correct every time... I just wanted to forewarn those who might be surprised or have phone-call related anxiety. My wife has phone anxiety and has deemed this location a husband-only call location, because the lady makes her panic every single time.
Small nit-pick aside, the restaurant is definately worth it for delicious...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur staff orders from China Great Wall generally 3-4 days a week (that should say enough) and we have never been disappointed. Their menu has a great selection. I will caution most, when it has a spicy symbol on the menu, they mean it. I have come to believe that they are a very busy location because their delivery times do tend to vary some days. I have worked in Marietta for almost a decade and have eaten at dozens of restaurants in the area. Over the last few years, prices have skyrocketed, delivery charges have increased to the point of ridiculous, portions have decreased, and quality and service is at an all-time low (if even existent). China Great Wall's food is very good, the portions are generous, food is always delivered hot, and they are very reasonably priced compared to most restaurants in Marietta. I personally believe China Great Wall is a great value (especially their lunch menu) and I hope that doesn't change. Their delivery charge is also the cheapest in Marietta (I hope that doesn't change either). The drivers are always...
