Kapow Sushi & Thai — Restaurant in Marietta

Okay this place is amazing!!

I'm not sure what it was before, but it is under NEW owners -- I met some friends who live out by Kapow Sushi and Thai for dinner. The couple we were with had been friendly with the previous owners, so when they asked to see the owner to say “hi” my friends were surprised when someone they didn’t recognize came out. BUT she was a total doll! She was the absolute sweetest and so kind, she was beyond excited we were trying her new restaurant, and she made the dessert we ordered herself!

BUT let me rewind a bit...

Immediately upon entering we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. The host then promptly brought us water and took our drink order.

We were a party of 6 and everyone ordered something different, everyone was happy with their meals.

There was a roll with lemon on top – chef kisses! It was SO bright, and different than anything I had ever had before! One to order on repeat, for sure! I had that, sorry can’t remember the name, all the more reason for you to read the WHOLE menu now, LOL. Plus, I got a second roll with shrimp on top, also good but my go to will absolutely be that one with the lemon (see the pictures). My husband ordered the Crispy Duck, another order on repeat item! Our son had some sushi roll that was flash fried and then had spicy tuna on top, he LOVED it! Our daughter got teriyaki steak and rice; she was happy as a clam!

It’s hard to go to a restaurant with a good size group and have everyone leave, happy, full, and looking forward to coming back – but KAPOW SUSHI & THAI managed to do that in spades!

After we finished the owner came to talk to us and see what we thought, she was so sweet and asked each of us if we not only enjoyed our meal but if we had suggestions! She is new to this space and very eager to make sure her customers leave happy and wanting to come back – mission accomplished girl! Mission accomplished!

We asked about dessert, and she told us what there was, it all sounded amazing, so we said, “you pick! Bring us your favorite.”

THEN she said, “hang on!” After a few minutes she came back and had prepared our dessert herself! It was mango and sticky rice with coconut sauce – I’ll be going back for that alone! It’s a traditional Thai dessert from where she lived, and it was just delicious! The cool bright tangy flavors of mango with the warm sticky coconut flavored rice and the sauce all in one bite, my mouth is watering….

OK I’ve rambled on – I’ll be back, this place is a hidden gem...

We tried the vegetable Panang curry and the sashimi bento box, and both were absolutely spectacular. The Panang curry was a perfect balance of creamy, spicy, and flavorful, loaded with fresh vegetables and rich, aromatic spices. The sashimi bento box was equally impressive, with beautifully presented, melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, complemented by all the traditional sides you'd hope for. The freshness and quality were truly top-notch.

The service was nothing short of fabulous—kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home, and the food arrived remarkably quickly without sacrificing quality or presentation. You can tell the team here takes immense pride in creating a wonderful experience for their guests.

Listen........If you would like to experience a warm and welcoming dining experience, Treat yourself to Kapow Sushi and Thai! From the moment you walk in, Russ greeted us with the most sincere, humble and gracious welcome you ever experienced. From the owner to each staff member, the knowledge base and food selection choices are impeccable. I was undecided on (2) dishes, and Meow was gracious enough to bring out BOTH samples of curry for me to decide! Both the MASSAMAN and SCALLOP GREEN CURRY were the two....AND THEY BOTH ARE EXCELLENT CHOICES! I ended up chosing the SCALLOP GREEN CURRY...and it was AMAZING! My wife had the PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE which was also AMAZING! We decided to also try the MANGO STICKY RICE! This was the BEST THAI experience that we have had the pleasure of enjoying!!
