I have visited mami taco several times, the experience has been good every time - except for my last visit. Myself and two others arrived and the first part of our visit was great, we got seated immediately, were presented with chips and salsa and our orders were taken promptly. Then it went downhill. Our server came back to our table after they had taken our order just to verify they got it correct, no big deal at all except for the fiasco that came afterwards, my friend ordered the PC tacos on hard shells, they brought out the dirty bird tacos on a soft shell and tried to gaslight her after she advised they were the wrong tacos, insisting they were correct. She is a pescatarian and can not consume chicken, the dirty bird tacos also come with jalapeños where as the PC tacos do not, so they were very clearly visibly not the tacos she ordered. After they brought out the PC tacos, they were again on a soft shell and not hard. At this point she asked for them to just bring the hard shells out and she would transfer the fish and toppings herself. I myself had ordered the salmon with rice, which was delicious, and a side of guacamole. To make a long story a little shorter, I never got the guacamole after several times reminding our server I didnât have it yet, and eventually just said forget it and asked to have it taken off the bill because I didnât want to fuss with it anymore. When I got the bill it was still included, but at a discounted price. Not sure why the effort was put in to discount the side of guacamole i never received, but not remove it from the bill altogether. I just paid for it because I didnât have the time or energy to mess with it anymore. This spanned over almost two and a half hours, and our server spoke to us probably a total of 3 times. We literally thought they had clocked out and left at one point because we were waiting so long to get the check. I am really torn because I love the food here, and most of the staff are great but the service received on our last visit was not ok. I am hoping it was just an off day, Iâll probably give another chance...
Read moreWe have been loyal customers here for nearly three years, visiting almost every week and recommending this restaurant to countless friends and family. Until now, weâve never had a single complaint. The service, food, and management have always been outstanding.
Unfortunately, our visit today was a complete shock, and it pains me to write this negative review. We were told the kitchen was a bit behind due to new staff, and we said we didnât mind waiting as long as the food was good. After waiting for over 45 minutes, what finally came out was unlike anything weâve ever experienced here. The quality was night and day compared to what weâve grown to love. âą The tortabirria weâve ordered many times came out on a hot dog bun cut in half, topped with lettuce and tomatoesâcompletely unrecognizable. It should NOT have tomatoes and lettuce! âą The steak street tacos, which originally made us fall in love with this place, were bland, chewy, and flavorless. âą We traded the tortabirria for mole enchiladas (a dish weâve always enjoyed), but the tortillas were dry as the desert and the mole sauce was overly bitter. âą To top it off, my garden taco, which should have been vegetarian, came with meat inside!
Thankfully, the margaritas and service were still amazing. Our waiter did everything he could and was kind and attentive throughout. I actually felt bad for the servers, because itâs clear theyâre having to carry the weight of the kitchenâs mistakes. But while the service was wonderful, the food itself was extremely terrible.
The most disappointing part was that no manager came by to check on us or the other tables. In the past, management has always been attentive and proactive. This time, there was no sign of accountability. This was such a shame.
I left feeling so sad and disappointed. We donât plan to return for a while, but we truly hope things improve. It would be such a shame to lose what has always been our favorite restaurant, especially since weâve tried so many Mexican restaurants in and around Atlanta and...
Read moreI was visiting a friend on this side if Marietta & was looking at different menus. I decided on this place because I love Mexican food but moreso because they have an option for "curbside" delivery. I ordered the combo meal, beef burrito & enchilada, rice & beans and also ordered a street corn. I ordered at 8:03pm and the estimated ready time was 8:18pm. It was not busy (imo) as I was able to park in the front row to wait. After waiting additional 10+ min, I finally walked in to get my order. I asked for my order and the lady at the greeting station??, went over to the kitchen area??, and immediately brought me my food. This means it was ready.... though I didn't ask any questions; I just said thank you & goodnight. I drove 8 minutes (per GPS) to my friends house and was sorely disappointed after just a few bites. The food was not hot (it wasn't cold, just warm -at best). The corn was so, so soggy, the chips were eh / no salt / kinda stale, the salsa bland (no onions, cilantro or flavor) and the combo.... it just wasn't good at all. Usually I love any beans & rice (red beans, black beans, refried beans -- you know how every restaurant has their own style?), but nothing here was good. Besides there being no flavor, maybe the fact that it was only "warm" made it taste worse? I don't know, I can't pinpoint it. I could only eat half before packing it up to go in the trash! Aaaaand, I always hate when I place a to-go order and the options for tip start with 30%, then get to 10%. I reluctantly gave 15% since someone was supposed to bring the food out to me, but didn't even get that service! The point of a tip is literally for good service! The idea of tipping for to-go orders is ridiculous because I always feel that if i DON'T tip, who knows how my food will be prepared. Ugh. Anyway, maybe it was a bad night? The other reviews looked good, so I don't know. Regardless, there's way too many other Mexican restaurants around for me to ever try this...
