I'll start by saying, I love a good Soul Food spot, the food here was decent. I just don't understand why the container fits the prices but the not the proportions. I got a thin layer of Mac n cheese, they forgot the yams. The Fried Shrimp was delicious the yams were good in taste and proportion, but the Mac n cheese could use Ground Mustard, salt doesn't have to be added it was good other than the small amount given for the price of the meal.

Came here today with my very picky bf, and myself as a vegetarian looking for some sides and we left so happy and are now dedicated to becoming regulars! Ms. Pat and her son were very welcoming and so friendly, and they made our food the freshest as fresh can be and I was happy to wait! She handed it to us and said I know you will enjoy it and we had no doubts. IT WAS DELICIOUS, EVERYTHING. The prices are amazing compared to literally anywhere else. I got the veggie plate (cabbage, mac, fried okra and cornbread) for $11, (compare that to $18-$25 somewhere else), while bf had their $6 fried chicken special with a side (you read that right $6 and he damn loved every bite) and the quality was better than when I have dined somewhere "fancy" and hated everything I ordered for $30. I got the turkey wing with dressing, Mac and cheese and cabbage. Iā€™m gonna be honest, The mac & cheese was bland not seasoned at all, the noodles were severely over cooked. The cabbage was plain and had an aftertaste of like pork or something but not seasoned. The turkey wings were seasoned OK but they were a little dry not the best Iā€™ve had. the dressing and the gravy, or the giblet that they had along with the turkey meat was weird. I have the smothered beef tips. Husband had the baked chicken! First let me say the people here are so nice and inviting! With that being said, we waited about 15 minutes for our plates. The sides I got were Mac n cheese and yams and the mac n cheese was water down no cheese at all more like it was made with a soup base. The beef tips were seasoned nice but the rice was extremely undercooked. It was crunchy and the beef tips were served over top- so it was very difficult to pick through the uncooked rice!
