If I were able to give ZERO STARS, I would.
If you want a decent Dairy Queen experience, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. The workers couldn't give a care more if your order is correct, if you pay for something extra that you don't receive, to earn their paycheck instead of standing around talking, or to uphold company policy, promises and values.
Since beginning working in Marion, we had started to go to Dairy Queen on Deyoung Street more often. But we quickly noticed they take waaaaaay too long to fill an order while staff stands around talking, orders are wrong or missing items, or we are always charged for something that we don't receive.
For example today. I went up to get ice cream treats for two of our employees. Simple order; 1 medium strawberry sundae w/ extra strawberry, and 1 chunky, Heath candy blizzard w/ extra Heath. I had to repeat both items to the whomever was working drive-thru and I was given an incorrect order total thru the speaker. When I pulled up to the window they again corrected the order total to a different amount. They informed us they "rang it up wrong." We are given the sundae first and we were shorted the extra strawberry as we requested. We are next given the Bilzzard, not turned upside down.... Liquid ice cream was dripping down the outside of the cup and I'm asked, "Do you want napkins?" I rotate the cup to show them the mess and said, "Um, yes please." They hand the cup back to me and I asked, "Did we flip that?" Their response, "I didn't flip it cause the ice cream is too soft right now." Yes...I get that, and not my problem. Your business is literally ice cream.
I then drive off to discover that they shorted me the extra candy I paid for and it was waaaay over blended. I received a Heath flavored shake. When I got back to work I actually drank it with a straw. Why is this an issue? BECAUSE I PAID FOR IT! And when you pay for goods and/or services, one should expect to receive what one pays for. And we have learned not to say anything to the workers, even in a professional manner, because each time we have addressed an issue with them, we get an attitude back.
Shorted a bacon cheeseburger a month ago. Received size small drink when large were ordered. Two shakes received, wrong flavors. We witnessed extreme rudeness from an employee to an elderly couple about two months ago and it took everything I had not to jump across the counter.
Tom Wolf. You have owned three Dairy Queens in Marion. I don't know who is doing your hiring, but it needs to be someone else. I don't know what you are paying your managers to do, but you need to stop, you need new ones, they aren't worth what you are paying them. I don't know who is training your employees but it needs to be someone else. Imagine how much money you could be making with decent staff that know how to work, want to earn a paycheck and truly represent the Dairy Queen standards.
It is said that the reason the 3rd location closed a few years back was due to Covid. If the service at that location was as bad as it is on Deyoung, I feel we may know the real reason it shut down.
We work too hard for our money. We are done giving it to Marion Dairy Queen. We will...
Read moreThe manager did not do a good job. All I wanted to do was use a coupon. And then I asked for a medium drink. They charged me over seven dollars for the four dollar coupon and a medium drink. She said that I could not have a drink on the side because it automatically bundled it with other products. After she was rude to me, by looking at me and saying I know and all I was doing was trying to help them understand what the issue was, she proceeded to make it impossible to have a drink. I asked her if she could just give me two separate orders. One for the coupon product. One for the drink on a separate order. She said she could do that. But as it turns out, I have no drink. She was not professional. She was not kind. I will not come to this dairy queen again. And for the people in this area who know me, I will tell them of the experience as well. I have never been so embarrassed in a fast food restaurant in my life. I feel sorry for the kids working under this woman. I understand she may have been under stress because she only had Dr Pepper and sweet tea and unsweet tea. The workers themselves were very sweet and they tried to help me have a good experience. The woman who was portraying to be a manager did not try to make me have a good...
Read moreI normally don’t post reviews and just brush things off as a bad day, but I felt that this was something that should be brought to a managers attention to hopefully prevent this happening more. I had about a 20-25 minute wait to order, with only two other cars in front of me, would’ve brushed that off no biggies things happen, but then I get up to the window and the girl shoves my blizzard towards me as it’s dripping EVERYWHERE no napkins or anything, and when I hesitated to take it she just shouted my total at me with her other hand waiting for my card, so I gave her my card and asked for napkins, she then shut the door and continued my transaction as I was holding the blizzard outside my car, she comes back to hand me my card and I ask about napkins again and she handed me a huge wad of them very awkwardly, i pulled over to the parking lot to try to recoop and eat my ice cream without a mess, and my blizzard was complete liquid, and ice cream down the side of my car. I would’ve gone back inside and have it remade but I had a friend with me who needed to get back home. I’m honestly not really mad, yes it was a bad experience, but I just feel that this needs to be brought to...
