Great place to eat. Ate here plenty of times...The portion size is probably one of the best parts of this Mexican food hotspot. The price is fairly cheap for the outrageous portion sizes as well. Something that sets this Mexican restaurant apart from the others is the full value you get. A fajita is the best example in my mind. The competition makes their fajitas with mostly onion and green pepper not the meat. I am happy to say that El Ranchito gives you more than enough meat for the fajitas to stuff the tortilla. The reason I am docking a star is the salsa, waiting staff, and atmosphere/seating. The salsa has too much cilantro for my taste and is not spicy enough for me. As luck would have it most if not all tables have hot sauces provided for this very purpose. The restaurant appears to either be understaffed or undertrained at times. My servers have seemed to forget about my family at times and it's frustrating when I need a refill but am unable to flag down the busy waiting staff. The seating is another aspect of the restaurant that, in my mind, needs improvement. I always feel like I'm stuffed in to a table where ever they can fit me and I'm not far enough away from other customers to be comfortable....
Overall I think the selling point is the portion size and value that set it apart from other Mexican restaurants in the area and why I will continue to return for some...
Read moreWhen we entered for my dads birthday they automatically started complaining about our crowd (7 people including 1 kid) , I speak Spanish and so I obviously can understand them talking bad plus the women who speaks English spoke bad and then hid away and sat at booth and made a woman who barely speaks English and was BRAND NEW serve us. That was a problem at its self, my other family barely speaks Spanish, so when we tried to order she messed up a ton! She didn’t give us our drinks for a LONG time completely skipped over my mother when taking orders, gave my niece the wrong food, no silverware and just horrible atmosphere. All the waitress were HORRIBLE. They barely wanted to work and gave attitude the whole time, food wasn’t great, chips were old etc. I used to come here a lot but, it’s gotten really bad. What makes me more mad was how horrible our service was, my dad ended up saying he wished we went to La fiesta or Don Sol instead. The time a week prior to this, my chicken was OVERCOOKED, and I found plastic in my rice. I won’t be coming back, we’ll just stick to Don Luna for carryout and La fiesta for dine in. They have better service there. And don’t take horribly about your customers in front of them thinking they don’t understand Spanish...
Read moreHad the chimichanga supremas meal with a side of chips and salsa to go.
Ordering took literally 30 seconds over the phone- fast and to the point. Picked it up in less than 20 min. 13 dollars for a lot of food.
Chimichangas tasted great, not too salty, marinated meats. Chicken might have been a little light on seasoning but still good. Beans and rice weren't soggy, the right texture and flavors. Cheese sauce on the chimichangas killed it too.
Tortilla chips were crisp and salted properly but the salsa was pretty meh- might have been out of a jar. Just a tomato puree type salsa. Nothing great.
Everything else was great though. Will try other stuff on the...
