John Brown's On the Square — Restaurant in Marion

This is pretty much the best American bar at which I've ever had a beer. Located on a cool little square in a small southern illinois town the patrons are friendly and the bartender on point. The craft beer is served perfectly (cold glass, well-poured) and there are $1.50 PBR pints! There's a stage in the corner (so presumably live music at times), several well placed TVs, and a wide selection of draft, bottles, liquors and wine. It truly is a unique place and fun place to visit. I've been to a lot of bars in 6 of 7 continents and this is one of the best. I'm not sure how they did it, but I'm impressed and can't wait to...

Great little bar that makes a Chicago native feel like they're back home at their neighborhood bar. Love, love, love John Browns! I have visited this bar many times in the last 5 years, however now that I am in Marion 4 days a week, I find myself here more often! Great bartenders who are always attentive even on the busiest of Saturday nights! The owner, John Brown (ha!) even has his own brew of beer! If your in the area and looking for a place to stop for a cold one, this is it!
