Alice Irene's Restaurant — Restaurant in Marionville

When I arrived, two servers openly argued over who would have to take my table. Margarette, the same server who forgot cheese on my eggs last weekend, ended up with me again. Last time, I politely asked for cheese, and ever since, she’s treated me with nothing but disdain. Today was no different—she was rude, short with me, and barely acknowledged I existed after taking my order.

My coffee was half-refilled once. After my food arrived (by the manager/owner, not Margarette), I had to ration my coffee just to make it last through the meal because she never came back. I sat there for over 30 minutes after finishing my meal before another server finally passed by with a pot and offered more. That’s when I asked for my check and told her what I really thought—Margarette clearly didn’t want me there, and I won’t be back.

The manager (or owner) came back, apologized, and even comped my meal, asking me to reconsider. But here’s the thing: you can’t take the blame for someone treating others like garbage, especially if that person is a half-owner. That’s not how you run a business that serves a community. You never know what someone is going through, and I didn’t do anything to deserve that treatment. I was patient, I was kind, and I was willing to overlook a little cynicism—but not outright disrespect.

I may not be a regular, but I was attempting to be one. Regulars should not receive special treatment over other customers. Every guest walking through the door deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. If your servers—or your owners—are not willing to treat everyone cordially, they do not need to be on the floor.

I use to do a lot of business with them. But I don't know what has happened. 1st, 10min not a single person waited on us, than 20 min when we get up to leave they act surprised. 2nd time(giving them another chance). Order my usual chicken and now they are going to charge me more for ordering legs instead of mixed? FYI Breast cost more and I was only getting 2 of them. Been ordering that same thing for 3 years and now we change. Guess I will be going...

I have only had the pleasure of eating there twice and both times it was fabulous as a matter of fact my brother and I have to go to Maryville in the morning so we are going to be eating at Alice and Irene's again tomorrow love the place love it love it love it and the people that work there are just fabulous and a little curios you can buy you know it's almost like a little used book store it's just freaking...
