Over the past several months the Marlborough location has taken a nose dive with service. There is one female employee in particular who always seems to have an issue providing service to her customers. Each time my family and I have gone in during her shift she seems put off by the presence of customers. A recent visit quickly went sour when we asked for a couple of sandwiches and she instantly got annoyed at what we asked for. She trudged off to the back of the store, tossing something she had in her hand on the counter. Returning a few minutes later she dropped the container she had been carrying on the counter with an air of disgust. The other customer who had just walked in commented on her poor attitude as well. We decided to leave without ordering. I get it. We came in 45 minutes before closing. She was the only person working, but that is no reason to make customers uncomfortable. It’s not always easy to be happy (we don’t know if something else had happened earlier in the day), but professional when dealing with customers in the food service industry should never be lacking. If you can’t deal with customers when it is one of the first 2 bullet points in the job description, maybe a change of scenery should be considered. This location for some odd reason always looks like it could use a good cleaning as well. Could be because it is an older store/building. Subway is the only remaining tenant. I am writing to express my utter frustration with the appalling service I received at one of your locations last night. I placed an online order for my family’s dinner, but I never received the food I paid for, nor did I get a refund. What transpired was not only incredibly inconvenient but downright disrespectful.
When I arrived to pick up the order, the employee on duty made excuse after excuse, claiming the store closed at 9:00 PM instead of the posted 9:30 PM and that she had already "put everything away" 50 minutes before closing time. I paid for my meal in advance, and my family was left without dinner because this employee, who appeared to prioritize scrolling through her phone over performing her job, made no attempt to resolve the situation.
The worst part is that not only was my order never fulfilled, but I was also denied a refund, leaving me both out of pocket and deeply dissatisfied. My son was left hungry because of this employee’s carelessness, and I am appalled that this behavior was allowed to happen at your restaurant.
I expect a full refund for the meal I paid for but did not receive, and I would appreciate it if this issue is addressed with the staff at this location to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
