I went there for breakfast, we got two breakfast croissants sandwiches which were good and a big sandwich but the croissant a little over toasted, and unfortunately as I had one bite left of my sandwich I look and see a black hair about an inch long sticking out in between the bacon and egg , so that was pretty disappointing. Pretty good jelly donut though. I had picked up a cake I had ordered later that night , specifically asked several times on the phone as I placed the order the day before, to NOT have any butter cream frosting specifically only wanted chocolate ganache frosting only or I wasn’t going to get it . Assured me they could do it , and asked if I wanted any design, I said just plain white flowers no color it’s for a guy , well I looked at it when picking it up and what do you know they decided to add purple and yellow and white flowers… si didn’t have time for them to fix it and was hoping it would just taste really good, we get home and cut it up , and there is butter cream frosting in the middle and on top! They put ganache frosting on top of the outer layer of butter cream only, and I specifically asked for no butter cream several times and said the only reason I want the cake is if they make it with ganache frosting! So basically they completely ruined my cake for my boyfriend, also I just don’t think 30 dollars is worth it for a small cake that was pretty dry and the frosting just gross and they added purple and yellow when it was supposed to be plain white decorated only ! So unfortunately I just don’t really think it’s worth it ide rather honestly get a grocery store cake if it’s going to have butter cream frosting and be dry anyway. The donuts are good but expensive, but I don’t think I’ll be eating there after finding a hair in my sandwich. And will not be getting...

I want to love this place so much but I’ve now had too many bad/mediocre experiences to justify a positive review. I placed a special order for a dozen cupcakes for my toddler’s birthday and, when asked at which location I would like to pick them up, I requested Ishpeming. When I arrived to the Ishpeming location to pick up the order, I was told they didn’t have it and that I would need to pick it up in Marquette. Fine - frustrating and inconvenient, but fine. When I walked into the Marquette location, the place was empty and there were no less than 4 staff members puttering about, sweeping, on their phones, etc, none of whom acknowledged me for what felt like forever (I’m sure it was no more than 2-3 minutes, but still). When I did finally go to check out with my order, I explained the situation and that it was frustrating to be told over the phone that I could choose the pick up location only to have to drive 25 minutes to the other location anyway. I received a halfhearted excuse with no apology. When it was all said and done I missed over an hour of my son’s birthday party tracking down these cupcakes.

To HM’s credit, the cupcakes were wonderful and exactly what I asked for. However after this experience I will no longer be giving them...

Was in town working for about a week I’m from Chicago I stopped in the bakery to check it out Ordered a toasted Everything bagel & 1 peanut doughnut…… Sat in my truck and dug into the bagel ! I didn’t even finish it ….. I set it on the dash and went back in side ans bought ALL THE EVERYTHING BAGELS PLUS AN ASSORTMENT OF OTHERS! They are by far the best bagels I have ever had I’m 58 years old & a chef as well as former restaurant owner …… I would like to think my opinion carries some weight! I was greeted by a very nice gal she was wonderful She took my order bagged them all up ans I left with a smile It doesn’t end there …… I was so into my bagels I forgot about my peanut doughnut lol Needless to say I went back inside (3times now) and bought ALL THE PEANUT DOUGHNUTS!😋 We can’t get peanut doughnuts in Chicagoland anymore Due to other people having allergies????? Peanut doughnuts have always been my favorite I always ask for them at home …. Nope ! If you haven’t been to this bakery, I highly recommend you run don’t walk RUN to this cute great...

Our family LOVES Huron Mountain Bakery!! Every trip up to The U.P. we swing by for delicious donuts and pasties, desserts, croissants & sandwiches. It's the perfect meeting spot for coffee and savory or sweets! 'The Huron' is our favorite sandwich with avocado & honey mustard, turkey and veggies on a croissant. But there is easily an option for everyone! The 'Ham & Swiss' croissants are easily our favorite, but they had a 'Vegetarian' and 'Spinach & Feta' for savory options as well. Of course, they have a chocolate croissant, an apple & blueberry cream cheese I believe. The donuts are massive, light, airy and full of flavor! And, as you can see, the cheesecake is too good to wait for! Creamy, sweet, perfectly paired with a raspberry sauce. Stop by, I believe they have a sister location in Ishpeming as well.! You'll be happy you did!

Edit July 2025: a new sandwich case that has plenty of sandwiches! The coffee eclair was amazing. Edit July 2024: Whenever I travel to the UP I go to Huron Mountain Bakery--it is that good, consistent, and I always find something new to try. This year was no different! The breakfast croissant sandwich was so big I split it with my kid. They didn't have my favorite sandwich in the fridge case so I asked and they made a few up for me. The fresh bread is fantastic, but many of my summer recipes call for day old bread and they have that too! Looking forward to my next trip! Original Post: Everything was amazing!! The bread was my favorite and the kids loved all the pastries. We also had the made ahead sandwiches and they were all fantastic. Something for everyone. Another bonus is it was walking distance from our hotel room!
