My husband and I are huge huge fans of La cantrina and we’re super excited to hear this place had the same owner! Because they’re new, they’re super busy so we had about a 25 minute wait around 6pm on a Wednesday evening. They offer seating inside and out. It is much smaller inside than La Catrina and it did feel a bit like we were on top of our neighbors and the line of customers waiting to be seated were watching us eat, so that was a bit awkward. Staff was all amazing, friendly and were doing their best to be as fast and efficient as possible. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. Highly recommend the carne asada fries as an appetizer! I ordered the fajita quesadilla and I’d like to suggest it not be placed on top of the paper liner. It gets soggy and when trying to cut my quesadilla, it kept ripping and little pieces of paper were mixing in with the quesadilla. I ended up just removing the paper from under it and all was fine. We were seated immediately on a Friday night and saw people coming and going frequently. Immediately had chips/salsa at our table along with waters. The waiter took our order for drinks, which were really good, but expensive. Ordered a Mai Tai cocktail and Sunset Point cocktail, both came to $14 & $15 each.
Queso dip was good. Had a slight kick of spice to it. Paired well mixed with the salsa.
Ordered the Burrito Pineapple, which had a very unique flavor. Sweet yet savory with the chorizo. Also had the Macho Burrito, which was a full of flavor. The shrimp in the Burrito was a nice addition.
Will definitely return to see what other...
Read moreFinally came to try this place. I'm a big fan of La Catrina. I had the birria tacos for lunch and Miami vice cocktail and it was fantastic. The service was great and a great atmosphere. I see a lot of people complaining about the price, but that seems to be par for the course at any restaurant you go to. I've even had more expensive food at some of the local food trucks so I think that's just the norm now. It's nice to get some more options in Marquette that aren't just straight up bar food. And I guess if you don't like the price then my suggestion would be just to stay home and save money instead of going to a restaurant. This place is a welcomed replacement for the other Mexican restaurant that used to be downtown. I will be...
